In the last 6 years I have been traveling to the Andes and the rain forest of Ecuador and Colombia, to the Alps, to Lapland and to the Ganges’ banks. Back in Copenhagen at my garden-home-studio, alone with all kind of acoustic instruments, I gathered impressions, compositions, poems and improvisations. This I named Tropico del Cancer.
5 tracks made it to what is now my debut solo album. Looking at it I realized it represents these 6 years’ journey to this point of my life: the birth of my daughter; from being on my own to the meeting with my wife and finally the little one coming down from the sky. Se Vino del Cielo...

What is mine to do? This is the mantra of Gigi Coyle, a revered veteran of social, political, and spiritual movements going back to the 1970s. Ta-iho Chiku was the Japanese name of the bamboo I use. This deeper model is a new flute for us, inspired by the ancient Japanese Koto scale. Music seems to tell a story and in my mind it felt like our Japanese flutemaking bamboo was deciding to leave Japan. It did, and settled in Florida in the 1880's and made me a flutemaker. Felt like the music was it's thinking about going and being willing never to return. But some of our customers are in Japan and the bamboo made the trip back home, a happy ending!
