Luis Rozalén has been into electronic music since almost forever.
His first electronic output came in the form of synth pop, then evolved into EBM and industrial sounds in the late 80´s.

He releases his first techno track as Hd Substance in Esplendor Geometrico’s label Geometrik Records in 1995. In 1996 his first album ‘ Eleven’ see the light in another cult imprint, Stereophonic Elephant Dance Recordings, as well as a bunch on vinyl Ep’s and the second album in 1998 called ‘Cancer Pop’.

By that time he was a regular in festivals like Sonar, Benicassim or Festimad sharing this touring action with a residence at Soma Experimental Club from 1996 to 2000. Meanwhile he studied journalism in the University and in 1993 founded the first spanish specialized electronic music magazine ‘Undersounds’. 

He also releases four complete albums in several netlabel platforms like Miga Records, dissapearing from main media, digging deep in the underground and focusing in his residence at Cassette Club in Madrid

In 2009 he resurfaces with another full lenght album called ‘Hardware’, the record somehow reached a Detroit record store and the LP goes into the right hands resulting in his first gig in the motor city club The Works in 2010, becoming since then a regular there, playing live in 2012 at the Movement Festival with his project Distric 909 alongside Detroit legend Tim Baker.

Never is too late and in his 40’s he starts travelling the world regularly playing Germany, China, Korea, France, Sweden, Finland, Russia and in 2015 finally reaching the infamous Berghain booth as well as Tresor Club.

2018 marks his 30 year aniversary in electronic music and he keeps on playing techno all over the world, releasing techno in a constant basis, teaching techno at The Bass Valley, writing techno for Beatburguer.com, Clubbingspain.com, Pole Group or Falling Ethics and releasing other people’s techno in his own label SUBtl.

Fourth guest of our series is Solarmental, aka Gio Gugava is techno producer from Tbilisi, Georgia. His music is dark, full of dramatic melodies and mystic voices. Similar to research of sounds and rhythms, his sets are not only 4x4 techno, but also broken beats and raw experiments. Giving priority to cold, atmospheric and mental sounds, Solarmental takes you to the battle of light and darkness.
Solarmental has releases on labels like Parabola Records, Unheard. In 2019 becoming a resident on Platz fur Tanz. His latest Ugly Paradise EP shows romantic and dramatic side of the artist, staring with 'Seekers Of The Faith' as the dancefloor choice, taking you further to feel the tragedy and the relieve of title track.
Solarmental music is supported by such artists as Answer Code Request, Electric Indigo, Svarog and other techno scene forwards.

Manuel Valle (AKA Endplate) was born in Malaga in the mid-eighties. He first came into contact with electronic music at age thirteen. However, it would be in Granada - his home during his university years - where he discovered and fell in love with techno. He has always felt a fascination for the darker side of the genre. 
This shows in his work, as straightforward mental sounds envelope you. His pounding bass lines and percussive synth sequences, as the dance floor consistently remains his focus, will not fail to have an impact on the listener.
Endplate's music is always in constant evolution as proved in the work he has already produced for AINE.

The 8th instalment of our podcast series comes from special guest Jephta. 

Jefta Wattimena also known as Jephta is a Dutch DJ based in Rotterdam, who is also a resident of the Embodiment organization- a rave that is fueled by the vision of people who are dedicated to the dance floor. A vision in which both the DJ and the dancers are pushed to the very limit to create the most intense and cohesive vibe during the night. With a solid concept, dedicated residents and a successful event at Perron, they proved to be an integral part of the underground scene in Rotterdam, which is very refreshing to the current state of the underground music scene.

Jephta is an up and coming artist, who quickly established himself in the local scene after playing at events like Orphic in Amsterdam and Extended in The Hague. His undeniable talent and intelligent approach to selection and mixing were quickly recognized, which led him to playing bigger events such as Reaktor alongside artists like Lobster and Comrade Winston, Anthony Linell, Planetary Assault Systems, Bjarki, and Oscar Mulero. 

For Jephta electronic music is a way of expressing oneself and escaping reality. Its a moment where he can let go of the worries and stress of the day-to-day life and feel peace, anger or any emotion he needs to feel at that moment. As he is a passionate dancer and clubber himself, Techno is just the perfect match. 

Characterized by hypnotic, trippy and experimental sounds in his sets and heavily influenced by artists and labels like Drumcell, Ancient Methods, Northern Electronics and Posh Isolation, Jephta’s main goal is to make people feel the music he plays, which is often a selection of diverse sub-genres mixed in a smooth and consistent set. Driven by the values of techno culture and his own experiences, he wants to offer the audience an opportunity to establish a connection or simply set their emotions free and enjoy the dance floor while sharing the happiness with the ravers around. A soundscape created by Jephta means a full mind and body experience.  

He recorded this set for us at his home in The Netherlands, and you can expect a very consistent deep journey with just the right amount of melancholia, which progresses into a heavier more dancefloor oriented mood.
