"This set is a spontaneous choice and represents partly music I listen to right now and includes tracks of my friends and collaborators, plus music of my latest releases and also some unreleased music of mine.
I originally come from acoustic improvised music, trained as a jazz drummer, then moved continuously towards electronic music during the last years.
As a producer I am always on the search of how to overlap ´genres` and merge different approaches of how to bring musical ideas together. To be able to act intuitively, not only as a performer but also in the studio while producing, is still what fascinates me the most and brings often the most personal aspects to the foreground." - Samuel Rohrer

Solid Steel in association with Serato (17th June) In Hour 1 this week, we hand over to Physical Therapy celebrating the release of his Baktadust EP on Work Them Records. Growing up in New Jersey, Physical Therapy later moved to Chicago, then New York, before finally settling in Berlin where he’s quickly built a profile as a stand out DJ/producer. Music comes from Justin Cudmore, Mr G, Jaydee, Project 86, Ben Sims and James Ruskin remixed by Steve Rachmad. He told us;
"The mix is very much based on my current dj sets - fun fast tribal techno and house with some breakbeats scattered on top. Very interested in high energy rave sounds, bongo loops and diva vocals on top of squealing acid lines these days!"

In Tijana's words:  It was a mix I somewhat spontaneously recorded at home, actually a couple of hours before heading to the airport. There was no plan or tracklist prepared, it's a collection of tracks I enjoyed listening around that time and some I played very often during this summer season. I imagine this mix to be perfect for night driving on the open road by the sea. Perfectly if you are alone or with someone you can just sit silently.

Basic Channel is a production duo consisting of Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus. They are considered to be pioneers of the dub techno genre, which combines the repetitive beats and basslines of techno with the atmospheric and textural elements of dub music.

Basic Channel's music is characterized by its deep, hypnotic grooves, expansive soundscapes, and emphasis on sonic textures and spatial effects. They are known for their extensive use of delay, reverb, and other processing techniques to create a rich and immersive sonic environment.

One of Basic Channel's most significant contributions to electronic music is the creation of the Chain Reaction record label, which became a key platform for the development of the dub techno sound. They also developed a unique production style that emphasized the use of analog equipment and live performance techniques, which influenced many other electronic music producers.

Their productions are highly regarded for their technical and sonic excellence, and their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary electronic music producers. Basic Channel's legacy has been further cemented through their work as mastering engineers, where they have helped shape the sound of countless electronic music records over the past few decades.

We want to start this new year 2021 with all the power, that's why our Inherencia Podcast #14 is by the amazing German DJ and producer Fiedel, resident of the legendary Berghain. His great soul and talent always smash the dance-floor, with groovy and energetic techno, ranging from old school acid sounds, breakbeats, bangers and mash-ups. This set was recorded on the 3rd Inherencia Anniversary, on 31 October 2020 in Berlin.

For Kurt Baggaley AKA Scape One it all started way back in 1983 after an appearance on BBC Television performing Robot Dancing to Africa Bambaataa’s "Planet Rock", he then became resolute to begin producing and writing Electro music, mainly concentrating on live performances within the local Hip Hop & Dance scenes along the UK’s South Coast which remained continuous on into the nineties.
With the advent of the new generation of contemporary Electro producers in the mid-nineties which helped re-start the Electro movement, Kurt joined in production duties with neighbouring associates Transparent Sound, with this collaboration came several releases on various labels, most noticeably 'Freaks Frequency'.
As an independent producer Kurt has gone on to generate more material recording for various esteemed underground Electro labels in Europe, The UK and The USA. In 2001 ‘Simple Machines’ was one of the first releases that made the name ‘Scape One’ perceptible on the Electro landscape followed soon after by the series ‘Planet Funk Express’ which focused on the global development and diversity of Electro and 'Submolecularnanotechrythmicpriciples' showing a more deeper and experimental edge. Many more releases followed each focusing on a certain theme but always with the pulse of Synthetic funk with a futuristic attitude that always remains forward thinking. Live appearances and DJ sets have taken place in New York, London, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Chicago, Glasgow, Miami, Dublin, Seattle, Leipzig and many more including various Radio performances.
In recent years Kurt has evolved his productions into a more personalized and unique sound, taking in influences from early 80's Chicago House, Detroit Techno, New York Club with a fusion of Italo Disco, Minimal Wave and Electro. With releases on SoHaSo, Chapter 24, HotMix, 
Kurt also writes under guise of Tau Sagittarii for his Ambient Experimental compositions, described as 'Sensory data for hypersleep chambers'.
However the element of pure electro will always be at the core of Scape One's productions and the journey continues with many new releases lined up for 2021.
