FRANCIS DUNNERY OF IT BITES INTERVIEW by Gareth Morlais on 16 March 1988 just before the band's gig at the Newport Centre, Newport, south Wales to promote their second LP Once Around the World. The band had had a hit with Calling all the Heroes and I'd really noticed the musicianship - particularly the guitar playing - of this band. I was a fan of Francis Dunnery and the band. The difficult second album, in It Bites's case, was a virtuoso progressive piece, produced by Steve Hillage. Francis's frustration about the popularity of fairly brainless pop pap oozes out in this interview.

Part I – The Arrival
On the darkest of nights, at a lonely southern California beach, the visitors arrive.  Lazy surfers note the discovery with surprise and awe.

Part II – False Hope
The world is amazed and hopeful about the travelers.  What wonders will they share with our society?

Part III – Battle Royale
The visitors show their true intentions, sparking a battle for the future of mankind.

Part IV – Reprise
Mankind prevails and can surf once again.  The wise wonder when the next visitors will arrive and what they will bring…
