We're none too fond of terms like 'selector' here at the figurative 12th Isle HQ. We think it was a shrewd marketing ploy concocted by natural wine bar owners - and possibly the freemasons - who repackaged the spergy single-mindedness of record nerds into something that sounded much more socially agile and cool in order to distract punters from the exorbitant price of nibbles. Thankfully, the time of white label soundtracked £40 sashimi seems to be behind us, and DJing can go back to being obsessives playing odd music made by even odder folk without much in the way of pretence. Someone who encapsulates that kind of energy has very kindly put together a nearly 4 hour long sprawl and has stated that under no circumstances should this mix be enjoyed alongside thinly sliced bits of raw beef and wine with bits in it or there will be hell to pay. The Berlin DJ, known for pushing the soulful sounds in the club circuit. With a history from breakdance and popping´ creating a foundation for her warm sounds. Trushmix 250 - Femdelic

Here is a look back on five months of living in Aarhus after relocating from Kyoto. 

I actually arrived in Aarhus on the day of the closing party for Super, a volunteer-driven community space. This mix was recorded at Kin, a new record shop that opened in September and was created mainly by members of that same community. Many of the tracks I played are records I found at Kin or are connected to that community, including some from my own label, Gorin. Spending time working with this mix made me reflect a little on my time here in Denmark since I arrived.

Let me share a little memory from this summer. My friends Natal (DJ Central) and Frederik kindly gave me a ride to Ærø, a small island where they performed live at a festival as part of Natal’s Alle project. After spending the day jumping into the sea like kids while waiting for the ferry and wandering around Ærø, taking in its lovely little houses and beautiful beaches, I saw their live show. The show was simple, sweet, and beautiful. Afterwards, it was interesting to hear that a few people shared similar thoughts: they hadn’t felt connected to music for a while, but the performance rekindled that connection and made them want to try making music themselves. I thought that was such a gorgeous feeling to share. I found myself feeling much the same.

I’m so grateful for this experience here in Aarhus, and for all the sweet people and community I’ve met here. Sometimes I still feel overwhelmed or upset, but I genuinely feel lucky to be here, to share conversations and small learnings with the people around me, and to find my rhythm in this new life slowly. Aarhus really is such a nice city!

Based out of Vienna  with radio shows on both Radio TNP and Radio59b  and with us being avid listeners we've been wanting a mix from her for ourselves and now we have it! 

Here's her ideas behind the recording -

This mix feels like a reflection of the past year—moving through places in my memory as each session shifts. It might sound a bit like a Yogi Tea quote, but this really was a year of letting go and learning to feel comfortable with who I am.
Following this mindset I didn’t dig too deep or overthink the process; instead, I let things come together naturally, almost as if I stepped out of my own (digger) ego and allowed the mix to unfold on its own terms.
The first half leans into organic, earthy sounds— live instruments, and warm, grounded textures. 
 As the mix evolves, there’s a subtle shift: cooler, dubbier tones emerge, opening up space, echo, and a more introspective mood. By the end, it circles back, closing with sentimental  elements that tie everything together and bring a quiet sense of completion. Enjoy :)
