Wonderful to combine astrometry and sonification, but a better explanation of what pitch, stereo position, tempo, etc. are representing would be welcomed.

A new test with the latest developments in the NOISE/VCF and LFO modules of Heritage Modular polyphonic synth.
Created with four LFO modules that modulate various parameters: VCF frequency, resonance, noise color, and amplitude.
Plus some live manipulations on certain knobs.
At the output, the MULTI-FX module in Zita reverb mode.
Played on eight independent voices, so with 8x NOISE and 32x LFO.
It's a palindrome; I layered two tracks: the original and the reversed copy.

Palindrome

A sonification of stellar catalogues through the history of astrometry, demonstrating the remarkable progress that has been made in the lead up to the first data release from ESA's Gaia mission. 

The clip is a sampler, containing extracts from sonifications of the catalogues by Hipparchus of Nicaea (II century BC, handed down by Ptolemy); Ulugh Beg (1437); Tycho Brahe (1598); John Flamsteed (1725); Jérôme Lalande (1801); the Yale Trigonometric Parallax Catalogue (1995); and the Hipparcos Catalogue (1997). 

The sonification of each catalogue lasts about 15 seconds in this clip; the various astronomical parameters provided in each catalogue were mapped into different dimensions in a soundscape.
