We are an Alternative band from West Yorkshire, we have been described as atmospheric and different and we are open to your opinions.

We are Currently recording an EP of which the title and release date are yet to be announced, we currently have a demo/single out called Ember, please listen and share!

Jade Helliwell’s music is influenced by Taylor Swift and Kelsea Ballerini. 
She’s performed alongside some of the biggest names on the scene at C2C, Buckle and Boots and Nashville Meets London festival, in Canary Wharf. 

In May 2017, a video of Jade singing with a busker went viral, reaching 21 million views on Facebook. Her EP re-entered the charts at #1 on the iTunes Country Charts, and #8 in the official charts. 

In Feb 2017 Jade won the Yamaha Hoedown, securing a slot at the C2C and an endorsement with Yamaha.

She’s been nominated for several awards including Outstanding Artist at the Yorkshire Roots Awards, which she went on to win. Jade won the Female Vocalist of The Year award at the 2017 BCMA awards.
 
2018 saw her release Infatuation, picking up rave reviews, radio support and Spotify playlists features. 
Jade was approached by Firestone, to become the face of the international music competition in collaboration with BBC Introducing presenter Abbie McCarthy.

OKeh short history: 

OKeh was founded by Otto K. E. Heinemann when he set up his own recording studio and gramophone record pressing plant in New York City in September 1918. Heinemann formed the name of the record label "OKeh", from his initials.  OKeh began by issuing popular songs, dance numbers, and vaudeville skits similar to the fare of other labels, but Heineman also wished to experiment with music for audiences neglected by the larger record companies. OKeh produced lines of recordings in German, Czech, Polish, Swedish, and Yiddish for the USA's immigrant communities. In 1920, Ralph Peer's recordings by African-American blues singer Mamie Smith were a surprise smash hit for Okeh. The company perceived the significant, little-tapped market for blues and jazz by African American artists. Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Bix Beiderbecke are only a few names of jazz greats that have recorded for the label. By 1926 Columbia Records bought the label and kept it running into the 60's with jazz and R&B recordings. 

In 1994, Sony Music reactivated the OKeh label as a new-age Blues label. Okeh's first new signings included Keb' Mo, Popa Chubby, and Little Axe. By 2000, the Okeh label was again retired, but in 2013 it will see its re-launch as a jazz label once again.

Robert is a musician, songwriter, guitar tutor, actor and workshop leader based in the UK. He released Only a Flight Away in April 2018, his third record following his self-titled debut album and his 2016 extended EP Ends and Starts. As an actor he works in theatre and film and is a founding member of short form comedy improvisation group The Improlectuals. Robert has delivered workshops on topics including songwriting and comedy improvisation in various establishments including schools and colleges and provides regular music and drama sessions for Midland Mencap. As a guitar teacher he works with students of all ages and abilities.

Robert is also the host of The Robert Lane Creative Careers Podcast where he chats to creatives including musicians, songwriters, actors, writers, comedians and journalists about their careers and how they create their work

In 2019 Robert was cast as one of the leads in independent feature film Sam and Dan Get Lost directed by Lee Price of Homebird Productions. The film is a partly improvised comedy drama and also features Robert’s music as the score.

In June 2019 legendary DJ Janice Long played Robert’s track Bill Frost’s Flying Machine on her BBC Show.

Robert has toured extensively in the UK as a support for artists including Jenn Bostic, Sarah Darling, Calan, Lotte Mullan, Nell Bryden, Dan Whitehouse and Bob Fox. 2019 tour dates have included Wimborne Folk Festival, HowTheLightGetsIn Festival, Bath Fringe Festival, Bridport Folk Festival and concerts around the UK. He has played joint headline shows and tours with Kyshona Armstrong and Iona Lane and his 2018 solo headline tour to support Only a Flight Away included a 5th trip to Germany and first visit to Holland.

Robert was chosen by the LG Arena to perform in the Forum Live area of the arena before concerts by Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Ellie Goulding, John Mayer and Fleetwood Mac.

In August 2013 he was selected to attend a song writing retreat/course with Kinks front man Ray Davies.

In late 2018 Robert was asked to add music to lyrics written by David Payne for his musical Reality Bites. David is a  producer who works on the BBC's The Archers, as well as a freelance scriptwriter. Extracts from the musical were performed at an event hosted by Cucumber Writers in November 2018 and Robert played the part of Kyle.
