Summer had come and the school year was done
for the senior most member of a party of one
Her bags are all packed and her back's to the sun
Untethered she's weathered but ready for fun

Summer it's just another day for him
He wakes up and makes up his mind on a whim
Nothing much happens and he sees no one
Uninspired he's tired in no mood for fun

The sunshine brings sunburn which brings its own harms
mosquitos are biting your legs and your arms

Summertime is here once again
And it's just begun
Summertime a breath of fresh air
Better get ready for fun

Summer is here would things finally get hot?
after months of fake spring and the rain that it brought
With nothing to do and not much to say
Could they sweat it out or would they melt away?

The night time brings crickets that chirp until dawn
The moonlight is magic as the fireflies spawn

Summertime is here once again
A break for everyone
Summertime the livings easy
I sure hope we're gonna have fun
