Letter from America: the Clinton Years (1997-2000)
Bill Clinton’s second term was dominated at home by the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the attempt to impeach him, but there were major events abroad with the al-Qaeda attack on US embassies in east Africa and the war in Kosovo. A fascinating social, cultural and political history of American life, through the words of British-American journalist and broadcaster, Alistair Cooke (1908 – 2004).


Los Angeles-based composer Alexey Seliverstov is one of Instagram's most influential experimental music artists. His works have been shared by numerous media such as FACT Magazine, The Vinyl Factory, POWLand, and many other popular channels. Ryuichi Sakamoto described his performances as "very challenging yet beautiful work." 

Alexey invented his techniques, such as Extended Soundscapes and Flying Mics that were highly evaluated by The Who's co-founder and principal songwriter Pete Townshend, who commissioned Alexey to compose and produce one of 14 soundscapes for an upcoming art installation, The Age Of Anxiety. 

He is the author of music for several movies. The most successful one, Inhale-Exhale, won the Grand Jury Prize at the Shanghai Film Festival's competition in 2019.

Alexey collaborated with Glass Animals in 2024, producing a performance-remix of "Creatures in Heaven" for Instagram, aligned with the band's new album and US tour.

DWIGHT ZYLAN ATKINS
The solution to a problem doesn’t always implement itself at the time expected, or even when our hearts awaits an issue to be resolved. A picture also can be painted to represent the journey of an individual and guarantee to be stared at for a lifetime after. Music production will not be the dream of a person who’s character doesn’t stem any kind of dedication or self-motivation, or even being able to focus under pressure. So a musician’s demeanor should come not only with a clean spirit but also one who can be a great leader. One who could channel great ideas through a team that will bring forth great musical spirits. DWIGHT ST MICHAEL ATKINS, better known to the music world as ZYLAN, Gained his experience over the years being a hardcore dancehall artist/promoter. “Music has been a part of me for many years now, and it will be for many years to come.”  Atkins has confirmed his abilities with works as the face of Maryland based record label MFB MUSIC GROUP. Many concerts held along the east coast of the United States have seen his lyrically filled performances reached the hearts of patrons. The standing ovations are usually firm at the end of his performance. In 2009 he teamed up with SPOOGY, Producer/Manager at MFB MUSIC GROUP for a major recording session.  “DUN OUT DEH” was the end product. A song designed for the ladies at a heightened dancehall tempo that was well received and seem to always get the chance at 3 or 4 plays each time forced by crowd response. The DMV hit track was only a demonstration of the talent possessed by the 5ft 7in. deejay with the big unique sounding voice. Like any other business time changes the direction mainly to improve a product, or a situation may sometimes be the cause for a path to be of different focus. In 2013 the launch of production company FIREPLACE MUSIC became a reality to house the lyrically filled brain of DZA pumping up his brand as a real entrepreneur in this culture driven dancehall industry. He is well on his way today combining being a producer and a recording artist and without a doubt guarantee that his fans will have more than enough entertainment in coming years. The new approach to his music involves a lot of poetry, real life situations that fans can relate to, humor as he explained “it is good for the soul.” And last but not least, he is the author of the column named “IF IT’S WORTH MY HIGHLIGHTER” which can be found in the fast rising BIRDIE PROMOTIONS MAGAZINE. The year marks 2015 and Zylan is currently in the studio putting together new music to add to his last production “GOOD INTENTIONS RIDDIM” which featured duo TashAnique and Jbree, Kaliba, boardhouse recording artist Scaacha, and a host of others. The compilation also includes his track title “Go fi di Dream” which actually speaks for itself. Unpredictable is the key word he chose to describe his writing ability. “Even I don’t know sometimes what the next song is going be like so can someone else?” Confirming Dwight Zylan Atkins is here to stay and here to show the world something they never seen before and chances are will never see after.

Schon als Teenager machte er sich auf, um die einzigartigen Vibes der Karibikinsel Jamaika aufzusaugen.
Er hat Jamaika und die Kultur mit großem Respekt aufgenommen und den direkten Draht zu den Menschen dort gesucht – genau das macht diesen Künstler aus. Nach über 1000 Konzerten rund um den Globus ist es immer diese verbindende Energie, die ihn als Künstler ausmacht – der direkte Draht zu den Menschen. Spätestens seit seiner Hitsingle „Intoxication“, die in der Karibik den Sommer 2004 musikalisch geprägt hatte, gehört er zur absoluten Top Riege der internationalen Reggae Gemeinschaft und Festivallandschaft.
In über 25 Jahren entstanden dabei über 100 Kollaborationen mit Top Stars wie: Shaggy, Sean Paul, Marcia Griffiths, Tanya Stephens, Ky-Mani Marley, Christopher Martin, um nur einige Jamaikaner aufzuzählen. Auch in den USA hat Gentleman mit einigen Stars zusammengearbeitet: Aloe Blacc, Pink, Destiny´s Child, SOJA, Michael Franti uvam.
Selbst in unseren Breitengraden ist die Liste lang und bekannt: Freundeskreis, Udo Lindenberg, Die Toten Hosen, Michael Patrick Kelly, Beginner uvam.
Gentleman veröffentlichte über 12 Alben mit 4 Gold- und einer Platinauszeichnung. Darunter mittlerweile Genre-Klassiker wie „Journey to Jah“, „Confidence“ oder das großartige „MTV Unplugged“. 
Zusammenfassend kann man dem Reggae Connaisseur und Autor Ulli Güldner nur zustimmen, in dem er Gentleman als „bis heute ersten & einzigen Reggae-A-List-Ambassador dieses Landes“ tituliert.
