In a small, aging factory nestled between rusted warehouses, the machines groaned under the weight of decades of labour.

However, there was one machine—an old lathe—who refused to surrender. At first, it creaked and sputtered when the new software was installed, its wheels grinding against the sleek interface. But as the new technology clicked and whirred around it, something extraordinary happened: the lathe began to adapt.

It shimmered beneath the glow of the floodlights.

The adaptation had begun.

JKriv channels deep grooves on a new EP for Rocksteady Disco – a stellar EP reminding us of the good old days of house, funk and disco. This one’s got soul.

Italian producer Birdee launches his brand-new imprint Hot City with ‘Your Love’, a vibrant nu-disco gem featuring the powerhouse UK vocalist that is Alexis Victoria Hall. 
Known for his refined take on modern disco, Italian-born producer Birdee spent time crafting this record in LA’s Silverlake during a sun-drenched creative stint. Blending Californian sunshine with European disco heritage, this uplifting cut brings shimmering strings, a classic bassline, and Hall’s soaring vocals all together for a feel-good anthem built for soulful dancefloors and sunset sessions. “I wanted the first Hot City release to feel joyful and warm. ‘Your Love’ is exactly that,” says Birdee. Alexis Victoria Hall adds serious emotional weight to the track, making it equally at home on radio rotations, rooftop sets, and late-night disco dancefloors.

This super solid five tracker continues J's hot streak on seemingly every great label around the world including his own Razor-N-Tape, with a deep organic sound, thanks to it being mostly produced in his MPC3000 era. 'Greene Street Lament' kicks it off on a boom bap beat tip. Next 'Adaptation' gets the party started with lush strings, piano, and a huge bassline. Emerging from a December of DJ booths, the duo Gold Suite sought refuge in the January quiet, inspired by the rapid creation of '70s library music. Joey envisioned scoring a resort lost in time, while Laura provided newfound bass lines. This led to "Analog Swell," later graced with a live kit, and the vocal breakthrough of "Coast Along." These simple, evocative tracks mark a creative turning point, offering listeners a minimalist portal to their timeless escape.
