Renowned German producer (and Kompakt lynchpin) Michael Mayer builds a propulsive, tropical-flavoured anthem around Mockasin’s unusual vocals, with delightfully unpredictable results.

You can see Connan Mockasin in glorious live action this autumn, when he and his band embark on their own headline tour of the UK, playing dates across the country at the end of September. Having already toured with Warpaint in the summer, as well as scoring the first short film from acclaimed video director Kinga Burza, and collaborating with the idiosyncratic likes of Charlotte Gainsbourg and Sam Eastgate of Late of the Pier, it is certain that the eccentric pleasures of Connan Mockasin aren’t going to stay a cult secret for too much longer.

Faking Jazz Together (Michael Mayer Remix)

DBFC, signed to Different Recordings late last year are set to release their second single for the label when they unveil ‘Autonomic’ on April 29th.

Fronted by Mancunian David Shaw and Parisian Dombrance, this Anglo-French outfit comes together as a four-way collective, not a band  as such but more a club.  Featuring  alongside the duo come  percussionist Guillaume Rossel and bassist Victor Paillet, the DBFC vision is entrenched within the French electronic music scene but, as witnessed on their debut for Different Recordings, ‘Get It All’, they succeeded in creating a sound that encompasses their multi-facetted talents.

We premiere ‘Autonomic’ today and heralds its arrival inhabiting a more dance-orientated world and whilst eschewing elements of their previous single..

Plaisir de France donne du plaisir à la France et ailleurs depuis le précambérien des années 90. Compositeur, producteur, disque-jockey et charmeur de ces dames, Julien Barthe triture la chanson pop hexagonale et leur redonne rythme et intensité. Il était évident que ce Nantais vintage allait rencontrer le rétrosexuel Bordelais Guillaume Fédou, également connu sous le sobriquet de Garçon Moderne. Ensemble, ils ont mis au point cette machine à désirer quelque part entre Gilles Deleuze et Patrick Coutin. Sur une production disco purement Plaisir de France, ce diable de Fédou a improvisé un texte cru mais jamais cruel, crasseux et invraisemblablement vrai... Un hit intello en puissance comme on n'en pas vu depuis le fabuleux 1990 de Jean Leloup. 

La machine à désirer se présente sous trois versions : originale, radio edit et danse edit.
