Dj Nomad (@vulkandance & @africaine-808) played at the first 716lavie Party ever (after 9 years of existence), alongside with the French record seller and dj, Boulo Disjoké (@boulo), and this is something big. For the occasion, both have recorded a special mix. Boulo Disjoké made a mix dedicated to the Afro-Caribbean music that was played in the African bars and restaurants in Paris in the 70/80’s.

Dj Nomad’s selection is like a compilation about the Cameroonian Diaspora in Paris in the 80’s :  100% Cameroonian Modern Soul + Disco, Parisian production. We can say that the African scene from that time in Paname (nickname from Paris) has been well represented here. Dig it here and come saturday in Paris at le 9B to hear this guy live, free entrance, 8PM-2AM, the rest is history.

To illustrate this mix, we wanted to use a photo from that era. It was hard to find some in google, until I discovered the amazing work of Bill Akwa Betoté who covered all this scene during twenty years. His work is a unique and exceptional testimony about this scene that has been a cornerstone in the musical and cultural life in Paris. What was happening in Paris at the time was having an influence abroad, some foreigners had their first contact with African music in Paris. Have a look at these photos from Bill they speak by themselves and don’t tell me you don’t want to just travel in time and dance with those people right now. I choose a photo from Princess Erika because the shot is off the hook and she is originally from Cameroon.

Aside from being a DJ, Gustavo Keno, originally from São Paulo and based in Rio de Janeiro is graduated in History which led him to a critic awareness that is translated straight into his music. 
His music moves between the 80s and the 90s, wandering from bright and alive compositions founded in social and religious themes from the Afro-Brazilian and African Diaspora ethos. 
For this podcast, Keno demonstrates an immersion of a questioning positioning throughout his defiant lyrics and bold beats.

Iako naslov govori drugačije, novi ASC ''guest mix'' je daleko od toga. Marko je naš rezident, prijatelj i bliski član ASC familije. Dio je i Esplendora, kolektiva koji od početka svog djelovanja pridaje pažnju glazbenoj edukaciji mlađih naraštaja, kako kroz svoju radio emisiju, tako i organizacijom raznih klupskih događanja, a što je ujedno ideja i cilj djelovanja i samog ASC-a. Kroz svoj serijal partija je zajedno s Nilom i DJ OZ-om doveo i predstavio splitskoj publici najbolje domaće i regionalne dj-e, a malo je poznato da je upravo Marko i prvi rezident kluba „Judino Drvo”. Od samog početka, dakle već više od dvije godine, dio je Adriatic Social Club DJs kolektiva i nastupio je pred publikom više klubova i festivala diljem regije.

Mister T. records (MTT) é uma crew apaixonada por música brasileira e tropical, baseada em Paris, é composta por quatro amigos: Alex Moujik , Elzibar, Val Air, Jisco Astrale. A label tem, desde 2015, uma série de podcasts que ganhou notoriedade na cena Parisiense. No viés da gravadora já prensaram alguns discos, como o do notório produtor Chevals, e estão prestes a lançar um ep com músicas tardias dos anos 80 em BPM calmo.

O foco musical da MTT é trazer novas cores para a cena de festas na França, ora na busca de artistas emergentes, ora redescobrindo artistas esquecidos, nesse mix os amigos se reúnem para uma jornada bastante atmosférica com momentos de introspecção e outros de encantamento.

Mister T. records - or MTT - is a French record label and a DJ collective, founded by 4 friends passionate about dance music and Brazilian sounds’ lovers.

The success of this first opus encouraged them to continue this work of sharing via the publication of edits. The label's desire to bring new colors to the Party scene by working with emerging artists to rediscover forgotten sounds oscillating between disco, Balearic house and world music.

Thanks to a series of podcasts launched in 2015, MTT is gaining fame in the world of Parisian electronic music, which allowed them to meet the producer Chevals, with whom they released their first vinyl in 2018.
