For the second installment of our 'Guide to...' series we head to what is arguably the musical home of the UK, Manchester.

It's illstrious musical history needs no introduction and it's cultural importance is unquestionable so we will spare you another scant BBC3-style overview. What we are most interested in is what's happening right now in Manchester, aside from the odious solo material from the Gallagher brothers, of course.
