Biography
Created in the spring of 2006, the Norwegian alternative electro-rock band ESSENCE OF MIND proved they could maintain the excellence we have come to expect from Norwegian electronics in the likes of APOPTYGMA BERZERK and ICON OF COIL.

After their succesfull debut album «Insurrection» (2008), their straight in your face attitude and high-energy music rapidly boosted their ascension to the top and was just the start..........

In 2009 the “Watch Out” EPCD was released for the occasion of the band’s European tour together with ZEROMANCER, ESSENCE OF MIND continued their sonic quest for the ultimate balance between edgy and powerful songs while putting a strong focus on fresh electronic melodies and sing-along choruses, which resulted in their 2nd album, “Try and Fail”.

After several live shows, video recordings and studio work, the band is now finally ready to with their new album "Indifference", with the "In The Night EP" as the ultimate appetizer.

With "Indifference", ESSENCE OF MIND deliver their 3rd full length album which confirms the band's sound evolution made of a blend of electro, industrial rock, drum n bass, alternative and pop, always on the edge. The music could be described as a mixture of the 2 previous albums "Insurrection" and "Try and Fail", but in a brand new wrapping described as ESSENCE OF MIND's hardest and most emotional album yet, from the hard-hitting "It's Killing You" , "Retreat" and "Indifference" via the up-tempo and catchy "Some Kind Of Entertainment" and "Scars" to the highly emotional and melancholic tunes "In The Night" and "In Line".
Sometimes dark, tough and bitter sweet, but always with a hint of hope, this new album deals with fears and emotions, with breaking boundaries, moving ahead in full self-confidence without forgetting the past and without following others blindly...
A poignant new album full of potential hits made of strong catchy choruses, fresh melodic synth arrangements, punchy rhythms and a lush and dynamic pop rock feel.
