Hello everyone thanks for tuning in, Welcome to our new series of Podcast 

This set feels like a special one, it's the story of over 4 years of friendship, and this is the first time that we jump together in collaboration on stage

In 2011, we started playing together in a little coffee in Montreal´s Mile-End. Back than, Esteban use to like Trance and was learning to use Ableton Live. The first time i heard him play i didn´t know him, and he was 'trying' to build a set with pair of  CDJ'200. While i was starting to get involved with Traktor, Controllers and i didn´t had much clue about music production at the time.

Years have passed, we've gone trough all kind of adventures together, we've learned to support each other in good and bad times.

To take a look back and remember where do we come from and why we are here make us feel very positive and optimistic about the future and this new collective project! 8day is the fruit of this friendship, trust and brotherhood, we aim to spread our passion for life, art and music.

 
This mix reflects our own unique styles and common experiences all over this years

 'Van Did & Arno Gonzalez' deliver a fine EP of underground goodness, while adding layers of melodies to brighten the overall appeal on the mighty Sudbeat who have been wow-ing clubland with an array of quality that shows no sign of let up.

Starting with the title track 'Vias', from the off, its intensity dictates that this serious slab of goodness is going to be doing the damage. Big dominating bass sounds lead the proceedings, while subtle dreamy edged pads, with nice crystalliser effects add a trippier vibe to this solid wondrous soundscape.

'Van Did' goes solo next with 'Relatii'. This romantic warm fantasy of sound meanders from daydreaming glistening moments to another with ease, like breath of fresh air for the dance floor.

And to round things off, the duo return with 'Kasepian'. A Berlin edged sounding gem, with its brooding bassline meeting whimsical sounds cascading into each other in an intoxicating marriage.

Without Ellen, Berlin’s vibrant club landscape wouldn’t be the same. Her new EP 'High' is the first material since 2014’s 'Freak EP'. 'High‘ is a 11-minute trip dedicated to the dancing crowd. Everything about this track is subtle and hypnotic, from the pushing bass to the powerful ascending soundscapes to the lead vocal line.

French artist Teho and Montreal based comrade Van Did have joined forces on this EP. Combining their talents for building powerful and emotional soundscapes, the duo have released an impressive EP called Hope on Stephan Bodzin’s Herzblut Recordings last year.

It’s little wonder that Teho & Van Did's music has found support from the likes of Applescal, Hernan Cattaneo, Moonbeam, Gabriel & Dresden and Deepfunk, Long Way From Home is a perfect example of their immersive, multilayered sound. Warm bassline, enchanting pads and escalating melodies make for an epic opener. Huacachina is a groovy and progressive composition yet powerful and cinematic.

French Duo, We Need Cracks, deliver a dreamy and captivating remix of Long Way From Home, duo has been catching international attention with very solid releases on labels such as Traum Schallplatten.

Completing the release is remix by Daniel Zuur, Amsterdam based producer who deliver a deeper and melodic rework that still retains the energy of the original.
