“You paint for fame & status, I paint for freedom & awareness”, reads one of the vertical graffiti that Mr.Paradox Paradise painted on some Berlin building. Likewise, there is nothing in João Alegria’s art that is done with the intention of fame or likes. He spent more than a decade editing with recognition limited to the “community” of sound nomads. “I’ve been doing this for some time and I don’t have a very wide audience”, he admits. However, who knows, knows. And who knows, like it. João Alegria’s music is for connoisseurs. Perhaps that will always be the case.

However, the unique contours of his art, combined with a stubborn aesthetic consistency and prolificacy, are the characteristics that simultaneously nest and vitalize it. The unconditional and obstinate way in which this “guitarist” – as he likes to be called – has created his work is a rare case of perseverance. His motivation? I love my modular synth , drum machines and samplers !

I began studying music as a child through classical piano and music theory, before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication (Media & Interactive Design) at ECAL. Fascinated by live electronic music, synthesizers, and sound design, I founded screenprod.ch in 2012, a creative agency specializing in audiovisual production, 3D, and interactive media. My eclectic path has led me to collaborate across disciplines — contemporary dance, theatre, rock, and digital arts — with projects like Prototype Status, The Forks, MK-Ultra, and Isolated Lines (Schism, Paléo, Kilbi). Today, I continue the AMSCON project and explore modular synthesis under the aliases Midilik, Salade de câbles, and Tosh, driven by the ambition to create and improvise freely — without limits, and without a computer.

Ester Poly! Psychedelic Experimental Punk Clash! This golden combination consists of bassist Martina Berther and drummer Béatrice Graf. 
A clash of two women from different generations and genres, exploding the chains of traditional music styles. The bass strikes angry orgies of distortion with the bow, the drums beat the soul into erotic fields - always edgy with a political message and an antitypical attitude. Is that jazz? Is it Rock'n'Roll? No idea - but definitely Ester Poly!
