The Australian raised, New York based producer Kate Stein brings a package full of hypnotic rhythms and beautiful landscapes for her debut on Playground Records. Composed of two original mixes and two high caliber remixes from Autarkic and Balam, the package is set to release May 13th. Our pick of the bunch comes in the form of Kate's original ‘Hi-Lo Motel’ - a track that perfectly showcases her ability to create tension and vibrant storylines.

Premiere: Kate Stein - Hi-Lo Motel [Playground Records]

It had been a week since he'd looked at the news; he had to check out for a little bit — it was all becoming too much. Good news was few and far between; nowadays the cycle consisted of devastation, of loss, of violence and oppression, a doomscrolling exercise that only had a negative outcome. Elsewhere there were tall tales, outlandish conspiracies and fake news, warping the minds of people across the world... There were positives happenings out there, but where to find them?

Since 2019 Good Skills, the label run by Lithuanian DJs and producers Roe Deers and Titas Motuzas (BDHBTS), has represented "the noise of Vilnius' youth", building a space for local talent to share their creations with the masses. Next up from the pool of Lithuanian music makers is Shkema who comes through with his debut LP 'Kronikos', split into two parts, inclusive of four originals and four remixes. Described by the producer as a “world news show, where each song represents a different story”, the release pulls from real experiences, hearsay and entirely fabricated stories — some of which get a rerub from Simple Symmetry and Each Other, the project of Justin Strauss and Max Pask.

Tulioxi (@tulioxi) is one of the new great personalities of the Italian Nu Disco Scene. He Has published at least thirty works, among EP's, singles and collaborations with other artists. He has established himself as one of the most interesting talents of the new Italian Disco Scene for the last 10 years. His Works are well respected amid the international community of Indie Disco Artists and his name has been circulating into the inner circle of DJs and producers from all over the world.

For the last decade, his released music shows how creative and prolific he is, keeping his productions at a very high level in terms of originality and experimentation, and his search for a personal sound is confirmed in every new work. He is one of the masterminds behind Cosmic Sumo Recordings and one of the developers of MEFF, the annual Modular synthesizer Exhibition Fair in Florence, tied to the brand Tiptop Audio, one of the most popular synth module manufacturers in Eurorack format.

Stockholm Syndrome (@the-stockholm-syndrome) and Tronik Youth (@tronik-youth) form Stockholm Youth, their remix is nothing less than a dark and sinister banger. Deconstructing while keeping a continuous nudge to the original version, they deliver a peculiar track.

Just don't think this is their first rodeo: Previously, they had been quite active on their personal Bandcamp having released some exclusivities on their own.      

Now, with their multi-genre EP, they successfully managed to combine a truckload of their main influences and deliver their vision of what dance-floor-oriented themes must embody.

As every year anniversary, Bonkers has the tradition of the special annual compilation, bringing a bunch of new extraordinary artists to the label. This VA is the sound that Bonkers represents, a sound to trip, to listen, to dance and to enjoy, now for year IV we
have on board: Sobek, Colossio Feat Animales Nocturnos, Ludviq & Radial Gaze, Moisees & ZEA, ID_UA and Oblako Maranta.

For the first track of the VA, debuting on the label, the Hungarian producer Sobek ,named after the Egyptian crocodile god, resident of Aether club, with releases on TAU, Get Physical, Borders of Light, and owner of Complaint Kulture.“Conscious Raveness” is a
harsh and enjoyable journey, with a rough bass and drilling mind synths, his sound simple has no boundaries.

Talking about sick collabs, “Retaliation” definitely is one of them, also is the first collab between the head of the label, Luis(Ludviq) and Andrey (Radial Gaze), this track has a great power in it, with a lot of trippy Fx, home-made recorded percs, mind-blowing leads and a massive bass line. Just listen and enjoy the ride.

Igor Dyeyev mostly known as ID_UA, is an Ukrainian producer, with releases on labels like Calypso and Duro, now debuting on the label with “Crucial Moment”. This track was made during the escalation of tension on the borders of Ukraine, what happened next is known to the whole world.

With releases on Exit Strategy, Duro and Scatcity Fernando Luna aka Colossio, presents his track “Reflejos” featuring Animales Nocturnos, is inspired by the Spanish electro-trash scene where the beat and the lyrics evoke the most hidden and dark feelings that spring
up at night, inviting you to enter the trance that provokes the dance.

For the first time have the pleasure to have one of the Duro Label bosses Moisees, joining forces with ZEA with “Recuerdo Futuro” is a flash of the forgotten rave parties of the nineties, the nostalgia of a past that was not lived.

To close this VA we have the honor to have, a new fresh and visionary project called Oblako Maranta, is the fusion project between the Italian Producer A-Tweed and the Russian producer Radial Gaze. “Viper Attack” is special track ,weird, slow and raver, with psychedelic nuances, definitely a trippy journey.
