You might have seen him formerly spin as Kid Strike at the legendary Beyond parties at Fuse club alongside his pals Walrus and Handless DJ. As a profound and skilled vinyl enthusiast, he has been one of the major actors in the Brussels’ deejay scene for more than a decade. Always on top with a refined technique and an inherently specific selection, his mixes are filled with soul and spirit going way beyond the classic achievements of dance music. At present, you can find him on a regular basis on Kiosk Radio next to his acolytes from the Planet collective. Electronic music producer based in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1992 he started to produce music on his self-founded labels No Acting Vibes and Moto Music. Specialized in using a variety of analogue synthesizers and pedal effects, Dan Piu’s productions were known for analogue sounds.

The mix complication is focused on some of Dan's most underground, underrated and forgotten old-school rarities.

You'll notice that some tracks are louder on one side than the other, Dan told us it's from a mini Album released in 1991 which he used and it appears that this record was stamped unbalanced. 

"The whole selection is very underground‘ish and I recorded it through my Urei 1620 mixer, it's dirty but very warm." - Dan

For doing this mix, I took an example from Walrus' earlier FPM radio show and decided to focus on playing unreleased music by friends and myself. There's some people I know well who contributed tracks, some who reached out from way further to share their music. I tried to vary the pace a bit more than what I usually do playing vinyl. The only previously released track here is Sense of Danger by Presence. A track that marked 2022 deeply for me. Shara Nelson's incredible vocal performance on it has become one of my favorite tearjerkers of all time. The arresting sonic narrative pulls us unforgivingly into the depths of the subconscious - it is an inexorable descent into an underworld, a beguiling journey through forgotten technocratic wastelands and mutating apparitions. 

Psychosomatic polyphonies spill into the space, an amorphous field of outer-space frequencies. Vocal transmissions dictate the quiet historical drama throughout, marking the cinematic transitions that seep across this fluid backdrop.
