This is gorgeous. A kind of natural duet between the calls of the cuckoo and the whooper swan.

Peaceful landscape with gentle sounds of life. Recording was made at 5 in the morning, in the place visible in the picture.

Edges is taken from the album ‘Swept’, an exploration of emotional turbulence, resilience and rejuvenation. Created with electric guitar, modular and analogue synthesizers and pedals, most of the sounds were recorded at the start of the global pandemic. The album is bookended with field recordings made from the artist’s garden in East London. It opens with the sound of tarpaulin sheets on a neighboring construction site swept by heavy winds during Storm Ciara, shortly before the first UK lockdown, and closes with the sound of birdsong after rainfall, signaling hope for better times.

In the hill rainforests of north-eastern Sabah, tiny Bornean Treehole Frogs (Metaphrynella sundana) call to create a magical nocturnal soundscape.

In order to make their calls as loud as possible, males of this species adjust the frequency of their 'toop' call to match the natural resonance of the small water-filled treehole they live inside. Often a number of males can be heard calling from different sized holes in the same area, creating a delightful soundscape of 'toop' notes at various pitches.
