Camea‘s talent and love for music shines not only through her fantastic sets, but also her breathtaking productions. In this case, ‘Edge  of  Infinity’  is  the  subject  of  discussion.  The  heavy,  technoid original  was  first  heard  this  summer  on  Get  Physical  Music Presents: Full Body W orkout Vol. 15 where it already made quite a splash in the open air and festival season. Now we’ve gotten remixes from the likes of Kiki and a monster collaboration from AudioHell, Tania Vulcano and  Jose De Divina. Kiki starts us  off hard;  with  a  heavy  beat  pumping  energy  right  and  left  as  the  main  synths  rise  and  bring  a  beautifully  dark  and  dirty  vibe. AudioHell  &  Tania  Vulcano  &  Jose  De  Divina’s ‘Kick  Ass’  remix  hits  us  next  with  a  straightforward-no-nonsense  tech-house shuffle.  Last but not least, the original will still rock your socks if all else failed, but we think that’s not the case at all.

Tripmastaz AKA Andrew Guyvoronsky debuts for Cadenza Lab with the ‘Blossomz’ single; a trio of heady club cuts that typifies his hypnotising house sound and knack for the perfect groove. 

Originating from Moscow’s music scene, and slowly emerging as one of the more renowned Russian producers to influence global labels, Andrew has released music for Richie Hawtin’s Minus imprint, DJ Sneak’s own Magnetic Records, as well as other appearances on Cécille Records, Desolat and Shanti, all proving fantastic platforms for his minimal sound and guided musical expressions. 

Aside from his productions, Tripmastaz who runs his own label, 74 Records, has also held a residency at the impressive rooftop party Techno Gipsy since 2013, a further accreditation to his career as a Producer and DJ. With an illustrious remix career to match, collaborations with DJ Sneak have pushed him toward close affiliations with the House Gangster Movement and the funky side of house music so clearly important to his work. 

Lead track, ‘Blossomz’, opts for a captivating percussive groove, whilst vocal samples are put through the wormhole to create rhythmic effects; fans of Mountain People/Sasha Dive will lap up this vibe for sure.  ‘Sublimely Relieved (Cuban Linx)’ raises the energy level somewhat; a snaking bassline slithers around the crisp drum pattern seductively, as light keys sprinkle over the dubby house sound.  A ‘Bass Dub’ is also offered up, offering an alternate take to round off the release with added weight.

Cadenza's head honcho Luciano teams with House music legend David Morales up for “Esperanza” a long awaited release that will fire up the summertime. David and Luciano composed the track together but then each one refined his own personal mix.

Luciano's “Flow Latino Mix” is a long tribalistic ground moving crescendo with a sub-frequency dense kick and sparkling nuyorican flavoured percussions. The hand drums ensemble ride a magnetic bass provoking a state of hypermnesia slowly reaching a climax of celestial chords. This subtle spectral progression finally breaks down a feeling of positive trust and spiritual healing.

David Morales' "Red Zone Mix" is a lengthy dramatic ascension with a darker feeling. Stretched textures are the background of a constellation of scattered percussions, over which fast paced hi-hats subliminally introduce evocative strings and arpeggios, as they were coming out, at last, as the Hope from the Pandora's Box.

Cadenza Records kick starts it’s 10th year in the game with ‘Hunter’, a release that balances the warm and cinematic productions of Martin Patino’s original mixes, with the dark and powerful remix by young upstart, Julien Bracht.

With previous releases and remixes on labels such as Freerange, Suara, Trapez and Rotary Cocktail, Patino is carving out an expansive and eclectic deep house sound, and his talents are perfectly captured on this release.  ‘Your Lips, Underwater’ is a track that’s been bubbling under for many months, a percussive and melodic groove wrapped together with heavy analogue bass and teasing jazzy keys.

Title track ‘Hunter’, featuring the vocals of Astrid Hald, is a powerful, brooding production.  The house groove develops perfectly, with the melancholic vocal back dropped by the dramatic and haunting pianos and strings, evoking shades of Massive Attack production values.  ‘Hunter’ is a stunning and very original piece.

Cadenza’s newest signing, Julien Bracht, supplies a remix of ‘Hunter’, offering up an all-together different shade to the original.  Aptly titled the ‘Darkmix’, Bracht gets busy deconstructing and reconstructing, taking just mangled snippets of the vocal with swathes of rumbling, aquatic bass washing over the reverb soaked, drum heavy routine.  Deadly!

There’s no denying that a new wave of Israeli electronics is rushing into international DJ crates, with Tel-Aviv’s RED AXES riding its cusp. Producers Dori Sadovnik and Nirv Arzi have already turned heads with their unique style, and now it’s up to CORRESPONDANT’s to host the duo’s psychedelically flavored house antics. Having performed together for over 6 years, Dori and Nirv amassed a considerable amount of experience handling distinctive sound aesthetics that range from post punk to underground electronics. After releasing a string of mutant house jams for well-established label outfits like I’m A Cliché or Clouded Vision, their latest masterpiece CAMINHO DE DREYFUS packs quite some heat, with a weatherbeaten bassline supporting a hand-picked cast of kinky cowbells, raspy guitar hooks and ABRAO’s eccentric vocals.

Pachanga Boys’ REBOLLEDO is a certified master of sweaty minimalism, preferably dressing his sand- blasted beats in tight leather pants. His athletic remix of CAMINHO DE DREYFUS is no different, capping the original’s opulent voicework and then spreading a thick layer of digital grease over the freshly shaved legs. MARC HOULE’s approach to the vocals is similarly radical, allowing them to eratically glitch through the aether. In the meantime, a deceptively simple, but alarmingly effective bleep motive sneaks up on the listener, priming the track to shift into freaky madness at any given moment. Together with SPICY STICK, another shimmering afternoon banger from the blessed hands of RED AXES, this makes for a truly exciting package ready to hot-wire your attention span.
