Battle of the Future Buddhas vs Ka-Sol producer set at ZNA Gathering 2019

My closing set at the November 19, 2022 'Return to the Trance' gig in Ottawa, Canada, recorded directly from the mixing desk. 

Organized by Gordon Clone604 (and his crew), who had heard me twice at ZNA Gathering in Portugal, the event was a retro party meant to highlight the best of 90s psychedelic trance. 

I was given the closing set to go full 'Goa' with my selection and story - and I did. There were a few favourites here that I'd actually never played out and a few others that I'd not played publicly since the 90s. The crowd was awesome and the vibe top-notch.

Discogs: "Goa trance project from France, active since the mid-1990's. Gilbert Thévenet passed away on February 7th 2021.
During the 90's, Thévenet owned Trans'pact Productions which featured mainly releases by himself and was established in 1992 with his wife Thaisha.
Trans'pact went on from strength to strength, and was ranked the no. 4 trance label in the world. In 1997, when the label was at its peak its distributor Flying Distribution went defunct and Trans'Pact, along with its two sub labels, concluded its activity. The same year Asia 2001 was signed to Avatar Records.

Nearly all of the credits for Thévenet on Asia 2001 records are credited to pseudonym Martin Cooper. His recording studio is: Stargate Studio.

Thévenet played Berlin's Love Parade, Europe, Israel and Canada. While touring New York and Los Angeles, he played in top clubs like Limelight and Tunnel, and shared the stage with Carl Cox, Robert Leiner, Jeff Mils, Jennifer Lopez, Juno Reactor and others.
His early days included interesting collaborations with Laurent Garnier, David Guetta and others. "

AΣIA 2001 - Binaryman [GOA] (tribute to Asia2001)

This episode Sonic Loom features BIOPHOTONS and his "Moral Compass" EP presentation. Biophotons is the solo project of Mike D., coming from Athens, Greece. Mike’s initiation into psychedelic music came in 2007, when he started attending parties and festivals around Europe. His interest grew into a productive engagement with this music, which culminated in the conception of the Biophotons project. Since then Mike has released several tracks in various labels, as well as his first EP: “Going Through the Motions”, on Urban Antidote Records. Meanwhile Mike has performed around the globe, using his experiences in the dancefloor of life as the inspiration for his unique brand of psychedelic soundform. After joining the Sonic Loom family in 2021, Mike develops his ideas into even more adventurous directions. This live set contains the upcoming EP from Biophotons, "Moral Compass". Let this compass guide you through another psychedelic adventure.

Taken from the original DAT tape recorded by TSUYOSHI SUZUKI in February 1995 for CHAOS UNLIMITED.

It was released in early 1995 as CUZ011 on a C94 chrome cassette. Tsuyoshi's original mix for MATSURI 2 was 2 x 60 minute mixes but we had to shorten them down to 2 x 46 minute mixes to fit on a cassette tape. Finally, here is the FULL length mix of MATSURI 2 in all its glory! Never heard before. This is something special in Goa Trance history.

It has never been released in Digital format or its full length until now. This full length mix has 2 tracks on A & B that were never included on the original mixtape.

So enjoy MATSURI 2 as TSUYOSHI intended it.

🎛️ [Artist Focus] Binaryman (Et Al. Records / Taïma Project) – EN

"Si vis pacem, para saltationem ad Goam." An ancient Roman proverb (604 BC) meaning "If you want peace, dance to GOA." Or at least, that’s what Binaryman would have you believe. Truth is, he just really loves spinning massive old-school GOA sets whenever he gets the chance.
After logging what must be hundreds of thousands of hours immersed in the genre—at work, at home, at parties, at GOA festivals—he’s fine-tuned a deep and obsessive love for that hypnotic psychedelic pulse. It’s this devotion that earned him a spot as DJ and producer in the Taïma Project crew.
He’s also the co-founder of Et Al. Records, where you’ll find GOA sets ranging anywhere from 55 minutes to 6 hours and 4 minutes !

What can be said about a producer who takes his feelings and introspections about a broken world and turns them into an expressive art form that is almost like a painting made with electronic sounds. In his own words, Egon’s Embrace wants “to produce something that takes him someplace otherworldly” and we at Sangoma are entranced to self-indulge into Egon’s personal catharsis. “A Little Larger Than The Entire Universe” is an experimental psychedelic oddity, full of lush sonic landscapes and melodies that are at once beautiful and dark. It is an intriguing invitation for the audience, as its music shape aesthetic experience into engaging electronic aural event with layer upon layer of subtlety. 

The nine tracks on the album shape a dark sonic descent into a netherworld of life amidst love, joy, depression and an ever-evolving landscape of human life marked by encounters with others. Egon’s Embrace succeeds in giving us yet another interplay between dreamy, melodic and yet dark electronic psychedelic music. As everything he has ever done, this release has more ways of finding and seeing profound beauty in the despair and agony that often surround us. In order to visually accompany Egon’s musical vision, art cover has been made by established Polish painter Leszek Kostuj whose understanding of art as an everlasting metamorphosis of our grasp of reality is a perfect companion to the album complex narrative. Thanks to Ady “Scorb” Connor, a highly regarded mastering engineer, tracks are ready to embrace you and share with you pieces of Egon’s (in)sanity. We are thrilled to invite you to witness with us evolution, creativity, and inspiring psychedelic experience of a unique producer whose music is definitely outside “of the box”. In the end, as haunting and dreamy as it is, Egon’s Embrace has carefully nurtured a perfect soundtrack for listeners to embark on a truly inspirational psychedelic experience - we at Sangoma Records are delighted to share it with you.
