This is an traditional Irish song. Best known from the outstanding version of The Pogues. But there are versions from The Dubliners and The Wolfe Tones, too.

I love this song for it's weird lyrics.

The Limerick Rake

An old English folk song. Made quite popular by Johnny Cash, my version is very different, though.

Sam Hall

This is actually a scottish song. It tells the story of a Scotsman who is considered an Irishman because of his looks. At that time though, the Irish was all thought of being convicts that only came to Scotland to escape their punishment.

I love these lyrics because of it's many scottish slang words.

Erin Go Bragh

Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and originally performed by The Rolling Stones. in the early 70s.

I discovered this song on 'The Big Lebowski', performed by the incomparable Townes Van Zandt. I rediscovered it a few years ago when I got heavily into Townes Van Zandt. I love this song and I play it on nearly every gig.

Dead Flowers

This is an Irish song and its quite graphic. It's about the cruelties of the first world war and about a son who's lost his legs in battle. It was made widely popular by Bruce Springsteen and thats the version I've been playing.
