Hospital Records are excited to unveil the third instalment of their ‘Future Symptoms’ VA EP series. Pressing deeper into their journey to discover and showcase some of the very best talent within the world of drum & bass, ‘Future Symptoms Vol. 3’ features Nectax, MYKOOL & Lost Child, Mr Joseph & Phoebe Freya, and Jam Thieves.

Stepping up with old school jungle vibes is Nectax with ‘Gold Soul’. With previous releases on RAM and Overview, as well as being picked up by leading dance music publications such as Mixmag and UKF, expect pure 90s euphoria as the Newcastle-based ‘one to watch’ crafts together rugged breakbeats, a hypnotising vocal sample and a pounding 808 bassline.

MYKOOL & Lost Child, who are no strangers to collaborating, get together on ‘Self Made’, a vibe-drenched liquid drum & bass anthem featuring hazy chimes and a shredder of a bassline. With support from the likes of Drum&BassArena and UKF between them, as well as a string of self-releases and releases on Pick ‘N’ Mix Recordings, the future is looking bright for these two.

Drum & bass mainstay Mr Joseph lays down a soul infused banger vocalled by the wonderful Phoebe Freya, the voice behind Etherwood’s ‘Clouds’ Degs’ ‘Trade Places’ (feat. LSB). With an array of releases on Liquid V and his own Fizzy Beats imprint, Mr Joseph is a connoisseur of the jazzier side of drum & bass, and this link up with Phoebe Freya is something special.

Brazilian-based bass bringer Jam Thieves rounds off the release with ‘Bangkok’, packed with mind blowing frequencies that are guaranteed to shred up any soundsystem. These modulated wobbles and a deadly sub bass are just a glimpse into what Jam Thieves is about, with previous releases on Break’s Symmetry Recordings, Playaz and Serial Killaz, he’s only just getting warmed up…

As we round off our third Future Symptoms EP series, don’t sleep on the names of tomorrow as we continue to showcase the sounds of the next generation. With previous Future Symptoms releases bringing through the likes of Winslow, Mozey, Nia Archives, Stay-C, Lally and Disrupta, the future sound of 174BPM is looking serious!

We are ready to come back with a new main catalogue release, the18th One, this time exploring the limits between UK Rave, Hardcore continuum, Bass Music and Jungle. 

Two sides, two artists each. On the A Side we have Denham Audio: the Sheffield Trio and Exploris, 
Durkle Disco and Nineteen Ninety Four affiliate debuts on BMRec with two post-rave tracks, “Lift Off” 
and “Who Started Jungle”, which will you remember the ol’good times. Dancefloor smashers, for sure! 
The A Side is completed then by a remix of “Who Started Jungle” made by Coco Bryce: the legendary 
dutch producer twists the original vibes in a proper Modern Jungle anthem full of heavy basses, amen 
breaks and ambient landscapes. Wicked! 

Then, on The B Side we’ve the pleasure to welcome Mani Festo: after releasing materials on Swamp81, 
Durkle Disco and Corrupt Data the London producer drops two tracks at high voltage, “All Potential 
Badboy” and “Ruffneck”. 
Low frequencies, rave culture reminiscences: you’ll go crazy for these ones! 
The B side is then closed by an astonishing remix of “All Potential Badboy” by Cosmic Bridge affiliate 
and Perfect Records owner TMSV: the Dutch producer transforms the original one in a raw as hell newdubstep 
anthem, handle with care!

As we digest our tensions, world war four looms, it’s hard to say when, it’s hard to remember our simple rituals, this is in essence, an advertisement, another slogan to process. It’s true what they say, we did invent the words Pet Shimmers, we chose them to be together, it is never said, but it is known. Here it comes, saddles ablaze, our second offering comes in collaboration vibes with our favourite space cadet seahorses from London, Goat Girl, we mashed it through BeepBox, added some rotten guitar mulch, pulped it up a bit and this unusual child was birthed. As well as featuring Goat Girl, Caelia Lunniss (Spindle Ensemble) dressed the track up in comely draping strings whilst Malthouse alchemist Dom Mitchison (Spectres) mixed these glacial gurt ingredients together and voilà, Feels Hz.
