Theory Of Everything 3 (2016)

Definitely my best track. Sorry for the long wait! This was made over the course of 3 weeks, a transition between summer and school. I worked on it in all my spare time, constantly trying to get the right sound. Here is the outcome, and I am very proud of it. Yes, the name is inspired by Brandon Mull, if anyone is wondering. I love his book series! This song is also heavily inspired by Virtual Riot, especially the drops. I hope you guys enjoy, love you all!! :DDD

I was not ready for this track. I was not ready.

This track was made for the tenth CHIPS competition. CHIPS is a weekly contest in which members anonymously post entries made along a certain theme and vote on other entries. It's a small-scale competition that emphasizes positive feedback and thonking memes. The tenth compo's theme was "Dreams", and I tried to capture that through the sight of a dragon ascending to a floating island.

For real, I started making this thing in full expectations for it to either flop or be very average in quality. But then I kept going... and it was like the track was a train and I had just been hit by it at full speed. And I guess you could say the flight inside of me took me up there.

A journey in the Aeolian mode. It parallels my previous piece Peaks in a number of ways, but also takes its own liberties and style. It also contains a reference to a pretty notable Pokemon Mystery Dungeon theme somewhere in there. 'down moon', a selection from sundrenched's upcoming fourth volume of his lofi guitar ensemble series, takes me to a totally different headspace. this track takes me back to 2013, finding some hidden gem and staying up all night listening to the song on repeat in the dark until the sun starts peaking through the blinds. organic, meditative, and delicate ~ listen to 'down moon' and watch the sun rise.

Inspired by Chappell's upcoming move away from his hometown of San Diego to the Pacific Northwest, as well as the departure of the second half of the group, Chanlar ~ this song captures the bittersweet beauty of change, evolution, and the contrast of a lifetime of memories mixed with an uncertain future. With these changes, Chappell felt it was time to rebrand under the new name "First Person", and SVNSET WAVES is so excited to continue on this journey together.
