Gerald G The Mentor is from the South Side of Chicago(Roseland) and he brings an aura to his music like no other, mixing the early sounds of both Chicago and Memphis to provide rap lovers with a soundtrack to vibe to. He is a force to be reckoned with, delivering tracks like “DOA 1”,” I'm WorkN", and “Niggas Change”, he provides a crunk turn up vibe while drilling the track. Although he truly does reality rap, as NWA would put it. On songs like “Tryin to Make a Livin”, Gerald G touches subjects regarding real-life struggle and poverty. Gerald G has seen the ups and downs of life in the
ghetto. During his early years, Gerald G learned how to fend for himself from his mother, and older brother; they taught Gerald G how to survive in the streets. Moving to Memphis, TN, with his father as a pre-teen was the only resolve to remove Gerald G from the street culture of Chicago.  As an artist Gerald G the Mentor is in essence savvy, honest, and reminiscent of the early culture of Hip Hop. Within his music you find vivid imagery and candid wordplay with a Mid-West twist. He has performed alongside The Bop Kings, Alex Wiley, Chris Crack, and Vic Spencer. The single “DOA 1”, which was debuted on Power 92.3 Chicago, is available for digital purchase, and streaming on soundcloud.
