Marie Alexis Portwood, “Miss Marie”, born in Killeen Texas on September 19,1992 is an unsigned rapper/singer/songwriter. At an early age it was apparent that Miss Marie was destined to be a performer. At the age of three she was enrolled in her first dance class where it became quite clear the stage is where she belonged. Being exposed to dance at such an early age opened the floodgates to Marie's creativity. She began writing and taking creative development courses at a local youth performing arts school where she stood out from most students. Marie's bubbly and outgoing personality helped her develop relationships that would help her later in her career.

	Marie began singing before she started rapping. At 9 years old she began studying the lyrics of songs she enjoyed listening to which lead to her interest in songwriting. Marie always had an interest in rap and r&b, influenced by artists such as Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys and Ludacris. At age 12 she wrote her first rap inspired by Lil Wayne's “Pop Bottles,” and from then on her focus turned to  developing as a rapper. Not long after, she found her way to the studio to record her own version of this song.
	
	Miss Marie's love for music completely took charge of her life. At age 16 she had her first song played on local radio in Louisville Kentucky, she takes great pride in the fact that she accomplished this feet on her own. Although it could have gotten her arrested, she will tell you it was well worth the risk. The song entitled “Tattoo's” instantly catapulted Miss Marie onto the local music scene. Her fan base began and she became a must have performer at all the local events.

	Miss Marie has continued to develop as an artist by completely devoting herself to getting to the next level with her music. This girl is no stranger to hard work when she's not working her two jobs she's writing or in the studio working with other artists that share her passion and devotion to music. She will tell you that at the current position in her career her main focus is networking, “I have to get my music out there to the people, I need their feedback and hopefully their love.”

	With her undying passion and devotion to making herself better, there is no doubt that “Miss Marie” will soon be a household name. The combination of her soulful singing voice and in your face rap style definitely set her apart from other female artists in the game right now.
