Nah dude, I love the cymbals like that. It's a nice touch, gives it an old school, almost house touch to it. I really enjoy this stuff. Put your stuff out there a bit more. It's awesome!

Here is a recording of my set at Far Away in Los Angeles that happened recently. I was the only DJ that night and I played from doors till close. Unfortunately the recording cut out during the night and we are missing the last 90 minutes. There are still the first 4.5 hours here for you to enjoy though.

Finally releasing this dubplate, inspired by the classic Motown break beat from the Winstons 'Amen Brother' (yeah the one everyone uses), and the music that stemmed from it.  

I had actually considered postponing this release in solidarity of the protests current happening in the united states, to keep the airwaves clear for the people involved so that their voices have the space they need. However, since I live in rural predominantly white state where there aren't many opportunities to act directly, I decided to use this EP as a small way to help ease some of the financial burdens of those fighting for their basic human rights. 

All of the tracks on this release are HEAVILY inspired by music created and pioneered by black musicians, and as a white male, I acknowledge how privileged I am to have lived in the safety that my privilege affords. Additionally, the white majority I belong to has co-opted numerous musical movements originating from black musicians, so it is very important to take the time to respect and honor the creators(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break). 

Because of this, I will be donating my portion of all Bandcamp sales to the BLM movement and the ACLU. I chose Bandcamp because it is by far the largest source of record sales for myself  and because the funds are available immediately, rather than some 3-4 month quarterly lump sum later this year and the movement needs support NOW. I will also be matching this amount personally(up to $500.00 because I can't afford more sadly). If you'd like to learn more about these organizations, you can find links below. 

We are all human beings and we all deserve basic human dignity. The US govt and US police force have been violating and abusing our black neighbor's rights since this country's inception, a practice that cannot be allowed to continue.
