A returning Cityfox favorite, Rodriguez Jr. never fails to amaze us whether it’s when he’s doing his live set on our stages or in the studio with his productions. Brought up under the tutelage of the great Laurent Garnier, Rodriguez Jr. has made waves in his own right with his prolific and award-winning music productions. While the world stood still in 2020, Rodriguez Jr. labored without fail in the studio to bring us his third album, Blisss, that came out on mobilee records. Featuring collaborations with his wife, Liset Alea from Nouvelle Vogue, the album is an attestation to his tactful skill in creating epic melodies that never disappoint. 

Taking the time out of his busy release schedule, Rodriguez Jr. has afforded us a spectacular Foxcast that features his own works in addition to a Patrice Baumel remix of Cubicolor, tracks by Agents of Time, Ede, and others. A well-crafted aural journey, Rodriguez Jr. gently steers the listener through the soft waves of melodic and ambient deep house with vestiges of piano keys to harder-hitting tracks where the bassline really sings. Adeptly creating an ebb and flow, he inflects hypnotic and twangy tracks to keep things riveting, though a satisfying melody is never too far behind. 

As the sun shines brighter and the days of spring get longer, there is hope in the air elicited by the sounds of Rodriguez Jr.’s delightful Foxcast. Here’s to hoping that we all may be reunited on the dance floor quite soon and be able to host our favorite artists once more.
