RESISTANCE SESSIONS GUEST MIX #10 - by Xia Ke

Xia Ke is a Chinese Producer/DJ. The owner of Spiritual Downtempo/Slow Tech label Autumn Equinox. Former Shoegaze and Noise player. The explorer of the unknown. The rabbit hole digger and dream builder. Committed purveyor of Slow Tech & Downtempo. Definer of the genre Orientempo. 

He travels within the realm of House to Techno, intertwining world music, especially oriental elements, harnessed by the primordial essence that runs in the blood, pitch them down and attempt to connect the soul to the universe. You may find water, fire, earth and air exist simultaneously, glowing light and warmness fading in through darkness and deepness, occasional thorns out of tranquility in both his tracks and sets. It shows his belief in the balance of everything.

Xia Ke began his music career since 2009, devoting himself to the buzz and lively underground alternative rock scene by then in Beijing and gaining a wealth of experience in live performance. After years of his career when he wandered through different genres of music, Xia Ke finally dived into the ocean of Organic House, Melodic Techno and Deep Minimal since 2019. When he met organic/ethnic downtempo music in 2021, he fell in love with it immediately. Meanwhile, he started to DJ and published dozens of guest mixes on channels all around the world.

2024 is a big year to Xia. He moved to Shanghai and became one of the most important organic/ethnical/downtempo focused DJ in just a few months. Also, he had the opportunity to stand back on the outdoor festival stages as a downtempo musician. Now, after several years of fusion in slow tech, organic/ethnic downtempo, his root of alternative music, and his asian spirit, he finally experiments with a soundscape that entirely his own. He defines it as Orientempo, because it doesn’t sound similar with any downtempo sub genres nowadays. You can catch his vibe in some spiritual music festivals in China, the regular monthly downtempo event in Shanghai he organized in the name of the label he founded Autumn Equinox, also the upcoming tour in Asia and Europe.

Bio:

MICHAEL DIETZE (Deep Tone Rebel) - DJ since 1991 Musik mit ♥ Winner MDR Sputnik Turntable Days DJ Contest 2003

 After a break of almost 7 years, Micha returned to the decks in 2017. In the 90s, the veteran of the Leipzig techno scene made a name for himself as "Ditte" not only in Germany. 

He was co-organizer of the legendary EASTSIDE parties (1993-2001) and ran the MolenDyk club from 2003 to 2006. In 2003, he deservedly won the MDR Sputnik Turntable Days DJ Contest ahead of 49 other DJs. He is a master like no other at always incorporating that certain something into his sets. 

The brilliant mixing and track selection show that there are 30 years of experience behind the decks. He makes music with his heart for the hearts and souls that he captures with his "age-appropriate techno". He has played alongside Monika Kruse, Rob Acid, Johannes Heil, Frank Lorber, Roland Casper, Paul Kalkbrenner, Neil Landstrumm, Mate Galic, Tony Rohr, Jacek Sinkiewicz and many more.
