In addition to his solo project, he writes music in the duo NARCISSI, which in 2019 presented the EP on Danse Noire. Evgeny is also one of the founders of the Fuselab label, where AL-90, Moa Pillar, HMOT, Ishome, Monokle and others were released.

Last month I was reading "Hypnotised" by Arjan Rietveld about Trance music from 1990-2005 era. Reading it I remembered stories from my brother about his experience raving while being a student in London in the end of 90's. When he came back he made my father a Trance lover. I was too young to understand this music back then but my father been listening to it all day long (Psy and Schranz were his favourite). Anyway, I've listened to hundreds of Trance tracks last month and felt strong connection with my family and childhood in this process. I felt myself good. This mix full of classic bangers for those who need a comforting, love or warm hug.

For the new part of our series, we invited artist Dima Komarov from St. Petersburg, also known as Polska Octavia.

Thinking about the saving nature of nostalgia in a particularly difficult time for himself, Dima says that many of his creative manifestations were born precisely from this feeling. “Most of the tracks in the mix are dug up from old forgotten VKontakte messages, and one of them is ten years ago.”

Last month, Dmitry’s debut long-play “Месседж” (“Messedzh”) was released. It was mastered by the producer Sijaet Zhizn'. In addition to him, Paita, mc ulybochka, Mushiwa and marinamastihin took part in the creation.

A couple of years ago, Komarov released a mini-album “Mechta Nerazrushima” and a mixtape “Volshebnaja Poljana” on the Holodnaja Voda label, recorded in memory of the musician Evgeny Mychak aka Stancija Videopark. A year later, his next EP “Letnjaja Noch'” in collaboration with Julius Payer Hütte Pulsar was released.

For the seventieth episode of our “ethereal mixes” series we invited performer and producer from St. Petersburg Diana Kovaleva a.k.a xvostik.

At the beginning of September the label /rakurs/ released Diana’s second album “Forest Eyes”. Her song “Sleep Demon” was supplemented with a video clip from Polina Yarosh and Artem Agafonov.

Last year she shared her debut full-length “Koshki” on the platform. We also recommend listening to artist’s another work - the mini-album “Neserieznost” (2021) from the Welofi catalog.

Earlier this fall, she recorded a joint composition “Pomogi mne vyshit” with Pochtischastie from the new long-play and prepared the track “Tak bolshe nelzia” for the compilation “Garden of Beatriz: Enchanted” by the Beatriz community.

'All The Same Dream' LP

'All The Same Dream' is the third album from KYO, the enigmatic product of Hannes Norrvide and Frederik Valentin's compact. For this record they have collaborated with American vocalist Jeuru, a recent recruit into the city of Copenhagen.

KYO's previous records are breathtaking instrumental works, and they have steadily earned the group praise on their own terms. Having dreamt of a quiet future on their last album 'I Musik', Norrvide and Valentin went on to present KYO live. Though always able to express a wealth of emotion, their delicately rendered stillness has perhaps learnt something from the immediacy of presenting the work in this way. 'Vi Byder Sommeren Ind / Vi Tackar För Sommaren', their recent live cassette, captures this in their duet form. Collaborating with Jeuru takes this exploration a step further and into territory hitherto uncharted in previous recordings.

Jeuru's vocals stray from spoken word trysts to heartfelt cries and introspective sighs. Love's locks circle with each move and we ride along. The casually diaristic lyrics and the often conversational tone brings a very real immediacy into Norrvide and Valentin's world, gracefully illuminating its architecture and revealing the great forms all around. KYO's music always departed for freedom and arrived there promptly. Jeuru gives us a telescope, and with intimacy we explore.

The fine blend of electronics and acoustic instruments is carefully balanced on 'All The Same Dream'. Everything shimmers, turning us one way and then losing us the next, matching the vocals in a persistent sense of opportunity. Brilliantly pitched moments of abrasive electronics are a warm welcome, immersing us in a different time zone from that of the rhythmic pieces that lead us into a chilled metropolis.

It feels like we've been walking these streets forever, from club to club, from scene to scene, but there's never enough time to dream between destinations.
