‘Never Better’ by saxophonist Kyle Wolverton is an extremely engaging, hip yet smooth track that is right up there with the best of 2013.  Lifted from Wolverton’s sophomore release ‘Don’t Stop The Music’ (that is due to hit the streets in 2014) its delicious groove is due in part to a fine contribution on lead guitar by the always excellent Nick Colionne and input on keys from Joey Navarro who also provides his considerable production expertise.  Wolverton first came to prominence with his debut recording, ‘Soul Groove’ in 2008 that garnered the tracks ‘Miss Peaches’ and ‘Cant Stop The Feeling’. -- Smooth Jazz Therapy
