Astropolis Records reaches its tenth year with a compilation that looks both backwards and forwards, bringing together long standing collaborators and a new wave of artists for a one off release built on connection and contrast.

Oniris and Benjamin Rippert deliver one of the most intimate moments on the album with ‘Sonate’, a track that values space as much as sound. Dub leaning rhythms roll slowly underneath soft piano lines, with every element given room to breathe. It never chases impact. It focuses on movement, tone and feeling.

Where much of the compilation leans toward peak time energy, ‘Sonate’ settles into a quieter lane. It carries the kind of weight that reveals itself over time, rewarding repeat listens rather than demanding attention in the first minute. This mix opens with a soft ambient haze before the ground tilts and you slide into glowing electronica, rubbery basslines and late night grooves that feel slightly unreal in the best possible way. The whole thing moves like a dream creature that should not exist but somehow does. It shimmers in the tropical sun, wobbles, bends time a little, then drops you into pockets of bass that feel warm in your pants.
