DJ set on the Fire Stage @ Dragon Dreaming Festival 2022, performed at 1AM Saturday 2 April. 

I wanted this set to stoke the flames of the fire dragon, engulfing every eardrum, causing a chain reaction of audio orgasms, a panda pandemic, surrounded by fire on all sides so that nobody could escape - only dance!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Was such a special set - the perfect ending to my chapter in Australia, at least until I return! Shoutout to everyone who made it - you can all now testify that you've seen a panda riding a dragon...

Returning to Mindspring Music after contributing 2 joint tracks with Earth Sine, on 2018 and with Neo 0n 2021, Earth Connect brings forth a fun, psychedelic adventure, in the form of the Alternate Land EP. Deep beneath the layers of uplifting melodies and playful sonic textures, a simplistic, yet effective, presentation of funky basslines, and driving beats. These elements set the stage for a funky-journey into multifaceted, laid back, and easy-going, downtempo tunes. Subtle psychedelic textures are carried along by evenly-paced movement that are consistent throughout the entirety of the EP. Combining modern production techniques, with some of the classic electronica instrumentation, and synth-work, Alternate Land finds itself sitting nicely between feeling fresh, new, and slightly nostalgic.

With this album, Badub brings the honey into your ear. Bees have collected different kinds of nectar from various places back from your childhood. They don’t care what flavor it is - all goes into one big blob, which goes into the melting pot. As a result, the music can taste like any direction. It’s a nice place, where everything flows into everything else – just like honey does – even the song structure. It’s just a beautiful mess. Hopefully this ends peacefully.

The multi-musician that seems to have appeared from a distant fantasy world rather than from northern Germany, will always look for a way to release your inner child. Among his listeners, Badub is known for a diverse mix of genres. As he says, the boundaries of genres could be inflicted with his creativity. And so he abandoned the idea of any rules that might be given to music. With his brave curiosity, Badub will aspire towards new horizons in the name of harmony. This music is not short of musicality though. Badub's Fantasy Jazz seems to organically float into one's ears, touching spots you might have long forgotten about. Cheerful, with a spark of amazedness are we listening to the kind-hearted melodies. Recording Guitar, Bass and Keys, using samples and synths, the sound magician from Hamburg (we will believe he is, for now) creates songs which provoke phantastic memories, forgotten adventures and driving curiosity within us. 

Recognized as a milestone in music history, Badub was present at the burning mountain festival (Switzerland), about 8 years ago, where he had the sudden opportunity to perform live. "I've played songs from my phone onto the function 1, and everybody thought i'm a real DJ." is what he says when he speaks out about the glorious first days of his vivid live career.
