A recent unplanned show in Bejing was a rare chance for me to share what I call my 'love songs' - beautiful, emotive records, most of which have been with me for a long time. I've only DJ'd this way a few times, and this is the first time I've got the recording. While many of the tracks have beats, I tried playing them in an ambient way, gentle and simple. Music from: Function, NWAQ, Larry Heard, Plastikman, old Kompakt and Dial-related, a few recent selections + more. Thanks to Lyu Zhiqiang (@mohemann) for making it happen. I sincerely appreciate the people who follow and listen to my sets, I am happy to share this with you.

For our 31st podcast, we are delighted to welcome Berlin-based artist and sound designer Toxido Mask. Her track Along the Vibe, released last summer on Pregnant Void's Ember Oasis compilation, lingered in our minds with its unique, modern yet deeply emotional touch. Hello everyone, I finished some new music and it’s coming out on the 3rd October. I’m releasing this myself, which is the first time I’ve done something like this. It’s been a really long process, bringing everything together, but I believe it will be worthwhile.

I’ve been working on music much more slowly since 2020. I’ve sent new music to labels, but nothing worked out. The natural progression became to stand on my own two feet and see what happens if I release my work myself. If I like the music, then someone else might too.

dontaskalex is a german music producer based in Kaiserslautern. He produces music for the band dontask which was originally founded by him and his sister. The track "dontask - ocean" got featured on several spotify playlists such as "mellow morning" & "fresh finds". It also appeared on some big youtube channels like "Chill Nation". He also began to release music on his own at the beginning of 2019. One of his early singles "h e a v e n" got featured on the youtube channels "Bootleg Boy", "Chilled Cow" & "Ikigai". His first two EPs got streamed over a million times in the past few months only on Spotify.
