Born and raised on the humble streets of Kempton Park, Eugene Le Grand started his musical journey when he was just 14 years old. 

Armed with two old CD players, a basic mixer, some cheap lighting and 2 Behringer speakers, Eugene took hold of every opportunity to wreak havoc at his peer’s house parties using his very basic mixing abilities.

After matriculating, Eugene was persuaded by his parents and society to leave behind his dreams of becoming a full-time deejay and pursue a “real career”. 
After 6 years of grinding away miserably in the corporate environment, Eugene had what he describes as a “near life experience". He got the opportunity to spend 10 days in a DJ booth with some local deejays at an event which his company was involved in. It was at this moment that Eugene Le Grand realized that it was not too late for him to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional deejay, and so the journey began…

With the help of old-school DJ’s such as Cee Smooth (Chris Caldron) and Nick Fusion (Nick Vetter), Eugene quickly made his way onto the scene playing at venues such as Buddha Ta, Babylon Rosebank, Winebar (Monte Casino) and Cobblestones. Within his first year Eugene became well known for his versatility as a deejay and true passion for music.

Since Eugene’s “pursuit of happiness” commenced in early 2013, he has also performed at various other functions, house parties and venues such as Stones (Fourways and Bedford), Babba J’s, News Café and Tokyo Star.
