Ukrainian producer and DJ Svarog - named after the slavic god of fire, forging and creation - brings us an exquisitely atmospheric set. Just as temperatures start to drop here in Europe, this one hour musical journey surrounds you with deep mystical haze and fog. It envelops your senses and allows you to focus on the sounds, while simultaneously grounding you back into nature. 

Svarog is deeply inspired by monumental elements, from mountains to architectures. His underground techno sounds are imbued with saturated timbres, ambients shades and textured landscapes. This impressive composite piece and his overall project demonstrate a mastery of music, but also an inclination to the sublime forces which shape our world.

Next up in our mix-series is the Tokyo-based DJ and promoter, DJ MARIA., a rising star in the psychedelic realms of techno and trance. With her deep, rolling signature sound, Maria is spellbinding dancefloors all the way from the depths of Japanese forest parties, to dark dancefloors in the likes of Berghain and Bassiani. Maria is a true contributor to the local scene, co-organizing two outdoor festivals, Moment and Transcendance.

In this mix she amplifies a swirling deep trip with intense, evocative sounds and captivating 4/4 rhythms. The mix invites to a jungle-like musical fantasy, focusing on psychedelic techno, drawing a line between acid and trance, with a sensitive energy control.

The REC series compiles outstanding performances recorded in the club throughout the year, highlighting artists representing our love for electronic music.

Voiski is the kind of artist that stands out. Even surrounded by artists like Ben Klock, Shifted or Phara, as was the case when this set was recorded, Voiski’s radiance can be undoubted. Ruled by no textbook, the French artist delicately manages to combine both the ardor and elegance of his analog techno trademark.  

Embellished by the big system of our Room 01, synth parts are uniting with blaring basslines and an incessant galloping feeling. Hard to argue with the fact that Voiski is a techno stalwart, we can only hope to see him under our roof again soon.

Feral & Spekki Webu : Convergence of Ethereal Realms

Emerging from the magnetic allure of Mo:Dem Festival's Swamp stage, https://soundcloud.com/feral_music & https://soundcloud.com/spekkiwebu delivered a live-set experience that firmly planted itself into the collective consciousness. Monument is privileged to share the set that marked their second harmonious collaboration, weaving a sound tapestry that continues to resonate.

Their performance at Mo:Dem Festival 2022 was a testament to techno's evocative power – combining FERAL's ethereal undertones rooted in Rome and Spekki Webu's enchanting rhythms hailing from Delft.

The duo's collaborative magic didn't halt there. By August 2023, they graced the stages of Dekmantel Festival ’23 aan ’t IJ. With Feral's renowned prowess in audio engineering and Spekki Webu's described aptitude as a 'snake charmer' for his intricate selections, they lifted audiences to interstellar heights. Fans are abuzz with excitement for their forthcoming live-set project at Positive Education on the 4th of November.

Beyond their joint ventures, Spekki Webu's skills extend to sound design freelancing, and he is renowned in post-audio production for films. Feral, on the other hand, immerses himself in the heart of Rome, running a studio where he excels as a freelance mastering and mixing engineer for various clients.

While you indulge in this Monument offering, allow your anticipation to build: a joint release on Aube Rouge, Feral's esteemed label, is slated for Winter/Spring 2024. This project, birthed from their combined expertise and shared sessions, beckons as a tantalizing next chapter in their shared journey.

Synaesthesia 12 - Quick Silver

EPM.187 comes from Chloe Lula. Raised in San Francisco and based in Berlin, DJ and producer Chloe is known for her deep and atmospheric sound that pulls from the niche recesses of techno. Here we can find her tough yet deep and bass driven sound creating a hypnotic groove that weaves together tracks from Viels, Bill Youngman, Function, Cassegrain, Traversable Wormhole, Edit Select, Mike Parker, Yan Cook, BLANKA and more.

Originally trained as a classical cellist, Chloe left the conservatory at 18 when she discovered raving and electronic music, moving to Berlin shortly thereafter to immerse herself in the city’s burgeoning techno scene. The confluence of these worlds has forged her textural approach to techno and inspired her to re-turn to her instrument. Today, she uses the cello to write full-length ambient, electroacoustic live shows as well as deconstructed tones and timbres that help form the unique character of her releases for the dance floor.

Chloe is a resident DJ at Tresor. She's played at Berghain, Boiler Room, Movement Detroit, and countless clubs, festivals and parties across Asia, Eu-rope, and, North and South America, becoming known for atmospheric sets that dig deep into the niche recesses of techno. She has released on Tresor Rec-ords, James Ruskin’s Blueprint and P.E.A.R.L’s label Falling Ethics alongside Oscar Mulero. Her debut instrumental full-length came out on James Ginzburg’s Subtext label in November 2024. She is also the senior producer of Resident Advisor, where she hosts and curates talks and music workshops at festivals like Atonal, Nuits Sonores, Dekmantel, Unsound, Rewire, and many more. Al-ways in pursuit of honing her craft, Chloe has become an exciting, in-demand artist who’s set apart for creating a focused, introspective musical vocabulary that is uniquely her own.
