Fat Hamster is an electronica musician based in Seoul, South Korea. 
He produces bass heavy downtempo electronica with Synth wavy leads.
Fat Hamster's musical journey has been anything but short.
Having studied classical and contemporary music at a university, the results of his musical exploration from the education are manifested in his music; counterpointing lead melodies, experimental percussion sounds, and the beats that incorporate mathematical calculations.
He also used to be a frontman in an alternative rock band for many years.
This experience has given him the ability to produce colorful beats that are both groovy and head-banging, and the stage persona to keep audiences engaged and excited.
Fat Hamster has released six singles and two EPs so far, many of which have been well-received by the listeners, reaching the top of the Beatport charts.
He is also gaining international recognition with his tracks being featured on radio stations in several countries, including the UK and Italy.
With most recent EP [Nonviolent Communication], he has once again pushed his musical boundaries featuring and collaborating with artists and musicians from other genres such as Korean traditinal instrument 'Gayagume', meditation music, and trance music.
The web magazine mixmag Korea commented on this EP saying, "Fat Hamster's heavy basslines, colorful yet restrained synth arpeggios, and free drum beats that don't follow a single pattern are synergized with each of the unique featured artists."
Fat Hamster has been actively performing at live venues in large Korean cities such as Seoul and Busan as well as socially meaningful stages such as the Seoul Queer Culture Festival and the International Environmental Film Festival.

팻햄스터는 한국을 기반으로 활동하는 일렉트로니카 뮤지션이다. 
강렬한 베이스와 비트의 다운템포 일렉트로니카에 신스웨이브적인 사운드가 녹아든 리드사운드를 결합한 트랙이 그의 스타일이다.
팻햄스터는 결코 짧지 않은 음악적 여정을 거쳤다.
그는 대학에서 클래식 음악과 현대음악을 전공하였다.
이 시절 습득한 음악적 탐구의 결과물은 지금 그의 트랙들에서 대위법적인 리드멜로디들의 배치, 실험적인 퍼커션 사운드, 수학적 계산이 접목된 비트 등으로 고스란히 구현되어 있다.
또한 그는 수년간 얼터너티브 록 밴드에서 프론트맨을 담당하였다.
이 경험으로 그는 기승전결이 존재하면서도 헤드뱅잉이 가능한 다채로운 비트를 프로듀싱할 수 있게 되었으며, 공연에서 관객들을 집중시키고 흥분시킬 수 있는 쇼맨십을 가지게 되었다.
팻햄스터는 지금까지 6장의 싱글앨범과 2장의 EP앨범을 발매하였으며 그중 다수의 앨범이 Beatport 차트 상위권에 오르며 리스너들에게 좋은 평가를 받아왔다.
또한 그의 대표곡들이 영국과 이탈리아를 비롯한 여러 국가의 라디오 방송에서 소개되는 등 세계적으로 인지도를 넓혀가고 있다.
가장 최근에 발표한 EP앨범 [비폭력대화]로 팻햄스터는 다시 한번 음악적 경계를 넓혔다.
이 앨범은 지금껏 그가 쌓아온 일렉트로니카 사운드에 가야금, 명상음악, 트랜스음악 등 여러 장르에서 활동하는 뮤지션들의 피쳐링이 더해진 작품으로 독창성과 다채로움을 만날 수 있다.
웹진 mixmag Korea는 EP [비폭력대화]에 대하여 "지금까지 팻햄스터가 보여주었던 헤비한 베이스라인, 화려하면서도 절제있는 신디사이저 아르페지오, 한 가지 패턴에 구애받지 않는 자유로운 드럼비트가 각각의 개성있는 피쳐링 아티스트들을 만나 시너지 효과를 내는 앨범"이라고 평하였다.
팻햄스터는 서울, 부산 등 한국 대도시에 위치한 라이브 클럽 뿐만 아니라 서울퀴어문화축제, 국제환경영화제 등 사회적으로 의미 있는 무대에서 활발한 공연활동을 이어나가고 있다.
