Can We Get - Omni A.M.

The second track is produced by the talented Filipino artist Saint Guel. An artist to keep an eye on him. 
Miguel Santiago aka Saint Guel basks in dance music — his being distinctly warm and clean-cut. The Filipino DJ/producer started behind the decks at 15 and tinkered with personal production two years after. Since 
then, he’s carefully carving his corner: an altogether irresistibly groovy one. Across his recent releases, “Still Life” (More Rice Records / Thailand) and “Over and Over / For The Floor” (Transit Records / Philippines) are easily breaking through as foreseeable dance floor bangers post-pandemic. Perhaps it’s him soaking up the Manila nightlife, his frequent pilgrimage across international festivals or his inherent taste and thirst for warbling world. Whatever it is, it’s looking like everyone is here for it. 

For FuFu Records, He produced a beautifully arranged over eight minutes, Saint Guel’s ‘Caught Up’ is pure rhythmic bliss. The crisp drums and bassline, steady and unyielding, coax you into motion. The ethereal vocals 
sit perfectly over the instrumental, cutting through the entire song. Altogether, you start feeling untethered by gravity, and, for a moment, feel like you’ll just float off.”

The volume 2 will be out on June 16th with 8 artists from 7 different asian countries.

88 - Double Happiness comprises a mix of well-know artists and emerging talented producers who are showcasing the new sounds of Asia. It sonically explores the electronic musical scene coming all the diversity of Asian countries.
With artists coming from Philippines, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Singapore & China, ‘88 - Double Happiness’ features artists such as Fzpz, Saint Guel, Mignon, Joi Lan, Rudoh, Zokkuma, Temple Rat & Dj Doggy. 
Each artist brought their own flavour to the compilation with their unique sounds and dance-worthy beats.

In 2021, FuFu Records has established a partnership with the NGO: One Tree Planted (onetreeplanted.org/collections/asia) 80% of the sales will go to one of the Asian’s projects of the NGO to help support the reforestation and rebuild the habitat of critically endangered species. 

The goal is to reach a minimum of 880 trees planted for the year.

Crustation were a short-lived trip-hop group with ties to Portishead and Massive Attack; their 1997 single "Flame" was a perfectly nice, totally innocuous, and mostly forgettable contribution to the drowsy downbeat catalog. The journeymen producers Mood II Swing put their characteristically light, funky touch on a club-friendly remix of the song, as they did hundreds of times during their run as New York's most dependable remixers. But Mood II Swing also had a murkier, more abstracted side; you can hear it in productions like "Move Me," "The Slippery Track," and the eerie "Inhale," which sounds like Gary Numan's "Cars" being sucked through a Teflon wormhole. But they outdid themselves on the "Borderline Insanity Dub" of "Flame," lacing a skipping, proto-U.K.-garage beat with hiccupping vocal loops and a lithe, shadowboxing bass line; the icing on the cake comes courtesy of a swirling fog of vocal harmonies that pans from speaker to speaker. Running out of phase with the beat, it lends a sense of tidal ebb-and-flow, throwing the time deliriously out of joint. The fact that Mood II Swing never produced anything else quite like it only makes this fluid, enveloping tune all the more irreplaceable. P.S.

THE 12 MOONS OF IKUTARO

‘The 12 Moons of Ikutaro’, originally slated for release in 1993 tells the story of Shioi, a young girl who embarks on an intergalactic journey to avenge the death of her father.

Her journey takes her to the solar system of Ikutaro, where she must visit each moon to defeat the ‘Moon Boss’, and ultimately destroy the ‘System Controller’. Aided by her ‘Liquid Sound Device’ she undertakes the task journeying between the moons on her ‘Model JP8080’ and meets various friends and foes on the way.

Kosh continues to move at his own pace with his label Convergence. Musically, that's fast, but output wise, careful and considered, with over a year or more apart between each installment. That's because creating complex worlds within worlds, which the Moroccan artist has a knack for, certainly takes time. Now a trifecta of releases in, the Enslaved EP serves as his most fine-tuned and liberated project for the label yet. 

On the title track, split between a vocal mix and bonus beat version, Kosh delivers a cosmic and introspective electro demonstration at its core, with flares of psychedelic and trance inducing sonic fusions. Its lyrical content is trademark Kosh, with its cautiously optimistic reflections on the world intuitively tapping into the current zeitgeist, yet through a universal futurist lens, leaving the listener with a sentiment that's timeless and expansive. 

The flip side sees the filtered house foundation of "Supernova" burst into scorching Detroit style techno stabs before the EP enters into uncharted territory with the interplanetary escape soundtrack on acid that is "Above & Beyond."

Psssh is the new label formed by Dauwd Al Hilali and Dave Redmond,
born from a collection of demos the pair felt deserved their own home. The inaugural release is the first in a trilogy from Dauwd himself, signalling a departure from the sound that first brought him notoriety.

The project is eclectic, pursuing less contrived grooves, from impactful dancefloor works to an ambient playfulness.

The EP kicks off with ‘Jean Rouch’, a techno jam littered with driving percussion, and the eventual emergence of a properly satisfying bassline. ‘Idris’ is equally intriguing, an ever-flowing and meticulously layered groove that doesn't quit. 'Really Good’ concludes the record, impressing further a spirited and melodic slice of deep house.

Dauwd’s work is new and fresh, but with references to old that hold their own.

To serve his sonorous ideas the ferocious, and retro tribal art direction of artist Mauro Ventura delivers the perfect cinematic vision of Dauwd’s EP.

After the release of Soela's debut album Genuine Silk (April 24th), and an upcoming XDB album in September, our jubilee compilation DIAL 2020 will be the ongoing companion throughout our 20th anniversary year. Our favorite artists will be presented on a series of releases- first in digital formats and finally as a very special vinyl edition. 

With DIAL 2020 PT.1 (May 22nd) we're thrilled to announce the stunning works of Lanoche, Molly, XDB, Joey Anderson, Mary Yalex and Sohrab. All of them gifted us with their most incredible tracks, some truly exciting birthday presents! We can't wait to announce the next compilation round, to come out in early summer.
