Hi There, welcome to the latest track from 'Euphoriqa', 'The Space that's Between Us'.

The story behind the song.

In the modern world many of us are more transient than in previous generations, with many families living far apart from each other for all sorts of reasons. Although it is very exciting to think we can travel and have a chance to live in exciting places and experience amazing people and cultures, it is at somewhat of a cost to more traditional values. Such as community and being close enough to help each other, even in the most basic way, of saying 'how are you today?', or 'let me pop round and help you with that'.

Technology has helped a lot and we are now more able than ever to keep in touch and video call, text, message, e-mail etc etc so can let everyone one know, where we are and what we are doing, which is great. But this is no substitute for real face to face contact, where we get a chance to share experiences, relax together, or even sit together enjoying a moments peace, in other words a chance to really read each others body language and mood and have a real interaction, a special occasion.

One of the members of the band has been separated from being around  one of his children for years, as they live opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Although they have a lot of contact, a great relationship and fantastic holidays and special times together. They are always faced with the reality that the time is precious, always comes to an end and is never truly enough. Each time together is shadowed by the fact that they will once again face long period apart, or the difficulty of 'The space that's between us' between the times and love we share together.

This feeling, inspired this song. In many ways all of us experience this feeling of separation, loss & isolation when we are away from those we love most.

There is an old saying however, that really captures this, and in honesty is a very true reflection, 'You sometimes don't realise how much you love something until it is gone'.

The Space that's between us however, is not necessarily a bad thing and can actually create an opportunity for us to really make a special effort to make time for those we love and to plan great times together, which perhaps we forget to do with those we are with everyday.

So our song is a song of two emotions then, that of loss and sorrow for those we miss; and a song of hope and excitement for the value we hold in our hearts, understanding how important that feeling of love really is.

We hope you enjoy our track on a musical level, but also hope it connects with peoples feelings and allows a moments reflection on life, those we love and what we can do to make the most of every opportunity, to put day to day problems aside and make time with those we love the very best it can be, even if it is when we are just relaxing together.
