After both playing & loving "What Remains of Edith Finch", and loving this cue in particular, I was inspired to adapt the piece (originally for piano & strings) to electric guitar. Originally the theme for "Unfinished Swan".

Cheers to Giant Sparrow, Joel Corelitz and Jeff Russo. Looking forward to feeling super melancholy again, sometime in the future.

I've always really liked this song and it's been stuck in my head for the past few days. It was actually a lot of fun because for the first time in over a month I actually had a large, continuous chunk of free time that allowed me to spend almost a whole day just producing the backing track, recording and mixing a cover. It was so incredibly refreshing to not feel guilty because I wasn't working on a uni assignment of some description! XD

I normally produce my backing tracks in Reason but I've FINALLY managed to get my hands on a copy of Kontakt so I produced the strings with Native Instruments' Session Strings library (everything else is from or built out of the Reason Factory Soundbank except the flute which is from a Miroslav refill). I'm much happier with that than I was with the patch I was using in Reason so I might try a few covers with self-produced backing tracks to let me play around with Kontakt. Should be fun! :D
