Make My Bed

This is my favorite song I've ever made. It's about being in a relationship with someone who's in a funk that they just can't snap out of. In this relationship, it was me. I knew it was hard for them and this was the only way I knew how to express it.

Sleepwalker

Eight years ago I was in my mom’s basement with my guitar and the most basic recording setup you can imagine.  I didn’t know anything about music production or anything at all really.  Somehow I came up with this melody that just couldn’t get out of my head.  It was probably the first moment I realized I might have written something good, so I wanted to sing it “one more time for those who are doubtful”.  While writing the lyrics (and feeling delightful), I looked at the clock, and it was 10:05 PM.  Since then I have written hundreds, probably thousands, of songs but this one stood the test of time.  Five Past Ten.

Oceans

It’s been a while for me. Some time ago, I found myself in a very dark place.  

It felt like an impossible hole to climb out of, so I checked myself into rehab for two months.  

 Out of that darkness I found a creativity and serenity unlike any I have known before.  I not only had the desire to write music back but it was something I needed to do.  

I spent the last 9 months discovering a new sense of self and putting to rest an old one.  On this journey I found an album full of songs that is more honest than anything I’ve ever made.  

This body of work is not only a documentation of demons - it’s creation itself is a triumph over them.

 I’ll be releasing that music, marking a new chapter in my music and my life.

Blair is the stage alias of Toronto native Evan Blair.  A charismatic and infectious personality, his unmistakable romantic flare brings a tender heart to his overdriven sound.
