In charge of the fourth outing on Bungalo Disco is Anton Demidov aka `Deomid`. The Moscow based multi-genre producer and dj - who already caused a stir in the electronic scene with his `Ry X` Remix - delivers two tracks for the `Got to got` EP, that immediately caught the attention of Italo & Brutalo.

Unlike his other productions Deomid turns to a more darker and gloomier sound. `Got to got` is a straight forward 303 club tune that will move floors from Berlin to Vladivostok. A sinister bassline, rolling percussions and a powerful acid line create the haunting atmosphere that characterises `Give it up`. 

Backed with two remixes the release contains an `Italo Brutalo` version - who employs his trademark vocoder over a faster-paced rework of `Got to got`- whilst `Reelative` flips the mood of `Give it up` with a wonky beat and the additional heavy use of 90ies reminiscenting synthlines.

Arpy Brown returns to Toy Tonics with his 3rd EP ‘U Never Listen’ on the German powerhouse dance label. Having studied music at Goldsmiths in London, Robin Braum aka Arpy Brown is known for exploring the more playful side of house music and those genres around it, rich in instrumentation and variation. More performative than ever, ‘U Never Listen’ comes full of vocals, performed instruments, lively arpeggios, no samples, but racked with hooks. Having played and sung in bands all of his teenage years, Robin is picking up singing again on this record on title track ‘U Never Listen’ and ‘Maybe’. ‘Release Me’ features beautiful, multilayered vocals by Allysha Joy, known for her solo work on labels like Gondwana and First Word but also for being the voice of Australian cult outfit 30/70. It’s not the first time the two collaborate after Arpy Brown’s remix of 30/70’s ‘Tempted’ on Rhythm Section reached millions of plays across the world. The EP is also a product of Robin’s deep friendship with Arpy Brown founding member Avi Barath who co-wrote many of the songs.

Part of the core Toy Tonics crew alongside Barbara Boeing, Cody Currie, Kapote, Sam Ruffillo and Gee Lane (whose debut EP just dropped and was co-written and co-produced by Robin), Arpy Brown has been touring across Europe this year and a full Australia tour is lined up around the EP. ‘U Never Listen’ comes fresh off the heels of his collab EP ‘Into You’ with Amy Dabbs on Aus Music. Generally taking a communal approach to music, Robin has been hosting intimate nights with DJs from far across the electronic music ecosystem since 2019. Guest sets from the likes of Seb Wildblood, Jitwam, Rebecca Vasmant, Fouk, Amy Dabbs, Hidden Spheres, Will Saul and some of the scene's brightest new talents have made for some unmissable parties in London's and Berlin's cosiest venues. In line with this ethos, he also co-ran artist collective and record label Squareglass - a proudly established home for new artists coming out of South London.

Arpy Brown's work has seen regular support on radio stations worldwide incl. BBC Radio 1 and 6 by the likes of The Blessed Madonna, Sarah Story, Jamz Supernova and Danny Howard. His last Toy Tonics EP 'Nogueira' saw him on the cover of Spotify's Fresh Finds.

Archeo Recordings' rewarding relationship with Tony Esposito continues on AR027, as the label provide a remastered reissue of his transcendent fusion-pop masterpiece "Pagaia" alongside a trio of brand new reworks from Perugia's mighty Feel Fly. Whether you're looking for cosmic house, mellow acid, trancey techno or dubby downbeat, these remixes have you covered, and the original remains a true work of art.
Limited black vinyl run "Pagaia" hails from the Neapolitan percussionist's 1982 LP Tamburo, his first release for the brilliant Bubble imprint. Though the album delights and excites from start to finish, dancing through jazz-funk, Mediterranean pop, slow disco and smooth fusion, it's "Pagaia" which is first among equals. Esposito's nuanced hand drums lay the foundation for Claudio Pizzale, Sara Borsarini and Simona Pirone's wordless vocals, a life affirming chorus which carries us onto the swell of bass, piano and horns which drive the track through four and a half minutes of emotional release. Emphatic and expressive, the track transports the listener into a state of body moving rapture, all driven by Tony's rhythmic fluency. The song found its way into Italian living rooms over the credits of TV show Domenica In, and found its way into club culture thanks to fanatical support from the likes of Daniele Baldelli, who even included it on his first official Cosmic compilation.
Following a string of essential releases for the likes of Internasjonal, International Feel and New Interplanetary Melodies, Daniele Tomassini, better known as Feel Fly, now joins the Archeo family with a trio of contemporary club translations of the killer "Pagaia". The Perugian's "Cosmical Remix" extends that familiar introduction into a deep and DJ-friendly blend of drum and voice, awash with airy reverb and augmented by additional percussion, building through the original piano and bass into the churn of a dance floor wormhole. Driven by an unstoppable sequencer throb, the interpretation skirts the dark side of space before landing in the light of the miracle, those heavenly vocals and lush keys leading the way. The "Instrumental Cosmical Remix", not entirely instrumental, but utterly cosmical nonetheless, sees Daniele serve a tense and tracky arrangement of his first rework, perfect for deep space exploration. Stripped of the joyful exuberance of the original, this variation is a complex blend of shadowy trance idents and the mature techno we'd expect from the likes of François K. Not content with soundtracking either side of the peaktime, Feel Fly serves up a third version, following the Compass Point through a musical map of club-dub to turn out an immersive interpolation of deep bass, spring reverb and stabbing keys that sits perfectly beside the Rhythm & Sound catalogue. Each interpretation is an emphatic demonstration of Tomassini's musical talent, production prowess, and stylistic range, and furthermore a fitting tribute to the lasting genius of Esposito's original.

Spring is in the air and with it comes fresh collaborations in the form of the album ‘Industrie & Zärtlichkeit’ (which translates into “Industry & Tenderness“) by Berlin-based duo, Moon. Consisting of @JohannesAlbert and Johannes Paluka (@IronCurtis), it’s a splicing of styles that takes the listener through journeys of ambient, funk, electro, deep house and beyond. Released through Mr. Albert’s own imprint Frank Music, this double 12” is an ambitious collection of tracks, debuting on the heels of a few EPs teased out over the past couple years.

This week, we present ‘Proto’, a stand out, groovy theme song to the record. Coming in hot from the beginning, the track opens up with an 808 electro funk-fueled two-step kick complete with forward driving closed hats and snappy claps. As the track progresses, brooding organ chords lay a haunting foundation for a delightfully detuned melody, weaving in and out of the forefront. The poly-rhythmic feel to the song is perfect for early exercises in getting the listener (or dancer) loose and limber for faster excursions ahead.

Altogether, in ‘Industrie & Zärtlichkeit,’ Albert and Paluka go in wholeheartedly, wearing their influences on their sleeves. Whether it’s Kraftwerk or Bambaataa, they’ve teased out these retro elements and classic sounds, melding them with new techniques, creating club-ready tunes for the present-day dance floor. All in all, an exciting new partnership between these German producers has led to refreshing new material, just in time for warmer climes.
