Reims based imprint Partyfine is headed up French super talent Yuksek and was established in 2013. The label takes a hands-on approach with its releases recording, mixing, mastering, and distributing, all under one roof. Partyfine is not bound by genre and was designed to showcase Yuksek’s diverse musical palette. Next up on the label Jimena Angel makes a second appearance with the first single from her full-length album that is set to drop in the fall.
 
Colombian artist, Jimena Angel, is a singer, producer, guitarist, and DJ from Bogotá with a talent for producing a very unique sound; a touch of Bullerengue and new Latin electronica coupled with a talent for writing catchy Colombian songs. Since 2007 Jimena has been developing her solo career releasing three albums, multiple singles and has been nominated for a Latin Grammy. With countless tours and festival appearances, she recently played a live performance atGlastonbury, Roskilde, Foreztival and Guts Presents Around Pura Vida.
 
‘Telepatia’ is a song about falling in love. That stage of romance where the obsessive fascination for each other goes deep, and the connection is so strong that there is a telepathic language between you. The music was inspired by the African ‘Highlife’ that Jimena so loves, but maybe because she’s Colombian, it went a little bit deeper to the side of Colombian Champeta and one or two other Colombian pop ingredients that are already present in her DNA. The original gets treated to a remix by Batida. Coming from the thriving Lisbon scene, Batida (Pedro Coquenão) sprinkles the frenetic Kuduro with infernal digital beats, and the rhythmic Semba de Luanda with electro rhythms.

Iry has been DJing since 2003 where he started playing Funky House music in bars & clubs in West Yorkshire. He then started to mix up his styles which covered Soulful to Deep House using only Vinyl. After a decade out concentrating on bringing up his family, he played at his close friends wedding last year where he played alongside the head honcho of Incognito, Bluey. Since then he's decided to pick up the records & start mixing again, and we're delighted to showcase his talents for the second hour. The Black Light Disco show returned to the MyHouse Radio airwaves on Monday 2nd November 2020 with an explosion of super-charged sumptuous goodies from our rootin' tootin' residents - Pookie Knights. 

The lads had us in raptures listening to this live - it was two hours of Pookie Knights showing us exactly what they're all about, and what they're capable of. All that was missing was a rammed dance floor and a hungry disco crowd as this was as close to their live performances as they've managed. They really are on a crest of a wave right now with their releases topping Traxsource and Juno charts of late. 

First up is Ash, who reserves his right to be outrageously funky in true BLD style. This is a different side to Ash, and really showcased his diverse skills in creating and setting a mood. 

Next up, Chris treated to an absolute power house of a set. This needed smoke, strobe lights, lasers, punters screaming for more. The hour flies by and it's thanks to banger after banger, hit after heavy hit! A true masterclass in peak time, don't give a f*ck 'go for it' methodology.

I'm back and doing my usual thing in the first hour this week, with a mix across the BPMs, a good few genres packed in and a couple of oldies alongside some promos and fresh sounds.

I had a blast this fortnight cramming in all sorts of music new and old. We've got the usual disco edits and some housier stuff, some sticky fonk, wacky global sounds, obscure funk, P-funk and I even fitted in a bit of garage. 

I've got brand new or quite new cuts from Le Babar, GMGN, La Riff, Ken@Work and something wonderful from Monkey Wrench. Oh... and me! I've played it on the show a couple of times already, but I just had to play Keep The Tables Turnin' this week to celebrate the fact that it's out right now and available to buy on Traxsource!

In hour 2 I welcome a producer that I've admired for a good few years now, and is responsible for several edits in my collection, FabioLous Barker. Fabio's put together an expert hour of disco goodness with a bit of an old skool house flavour, heavy on the eidts with reworks of classics from Prince, Chaka Khan and loads more.
