BLD Special: Slightly Transformed - Winter Numbers 2022 (Mixed by Chuggin Edits)

Episode 75, the three quarter century, was a bit of a special one - it was broadcast on Valentine’s Day, which is also my birthday! Couldn’t resist slipping in a couple of loved up smoochers, but this episode was all about the promos really, with two new cuts from myself and some brand new heat from disco friends Pete Whitely, Pete Ellison, Jack Tennis, Shalvoy, Da Lukas, Robert Ouimet & Dave Godin and Mascott

As it was my birthday, I’d lined up an extra special guest for hour 2 - Michael Gray!!! Michael is a hugely respected and established British DJ and music producer, best known for his hits ‘The Weekend’ & ‘Borderline’ He is also one half of the dance music production and remixing duo 'Full Intention' who have been at the forefront of Dance music since the early 90s.

London-based Michael is one of the most in-demand Artists on the global dance music scene today. Having relaunched his solo career as Michael Gray in 2018 to pursue his original love of Disco, Michael has consistently placed in the top three house artists on Traxsource - an incredible achievement and a worthy accolade for Michael's world-class production skills. Throw into the mix awesome DJ sets at the best events in the UK, and a host of chart topping tracks with Jon Pearn as Full Intention, and you start to see the full picture of one of the UK's most talented Artists. He has DJ’d all over the world from MOS in London to Hi (for Glitterbox) & Pacha in Ibiza and as far and wide as Poland, Germany, The Philippines, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Georgia, Spain and The Netherlands.

This week's special guest is La Fusa, a female DJ and Producer originally from Italy who now resides in Germany. She is a fast-rising star in the disco world, and over the past 6 months she's released a series of upbeat disco gems, along with co-producer Dr.Disco. This episode was a third birthday special! To mark 3 years since I first took the plunge and started doing these shows, I decided it would be nice to fill the first hour entirely with tracks from previous guest DJs. I had great fun cramming in as many tracks as I could, working up from 100 to 125 BPM over the course of the hour, with appearances from 21 previous guests as well as a cheeky new one from myself. 

I managed to bag a very special guest for the second hour, someone I’ve been trying to get on the show for a while now - Mexico’s very own Hotmood! He’s one of the most respected, talented and prolific producers in our scene, putting out a seemingly endless string of releases on all sorts of labels, but never letting the quality slip. His tracks make regular appearances on my show and I’m proud to have  released an EP on his label Discoweey.

This mix is made up entirely of his own stuff, and it’s great - loads of his trademark exotic, quirky, obscure, fruity sound and of course razor sharp production throughout. Big, big thanks to Guillermo for sending me this great mix, and big big thanks to each and every one of you who has listened to the show over the last 3 years. I really really appreciate it, and can’t wait to bring you more shows with more excellent guests soon!
