Lup Ino has been causing quite a commotion on the edits/Nu-Disco scene. Hailing from Campania, Italy, Lup Ino has fire and music in equal measures in his bloodstream. With an uncanny ear for disco,funky soulful, melodic grooves, he has been inceredibly consistent in his releases, raising the bar for this rising sub-genre. We're really chuffed to have him on the show!

Episode 116 - Feel Good Friday Radio Show (Greg Middleton 2 Hour Special)

Black Light Disco returns to the Myhouseradio.fm airwaves with a lip-smackingly tantalising show to treat your ear lugs to.

This week, we were opening up the new Sonic Utilities and Acquisitions Room here in BLD Towers, where our resident Goz set up to host this week’s show. Goz has accessed his mind palace full of uptempo diddles which will get your feet tapping and your shoulders shimmying. 

For the second hour, we have a superb set from our very special guests this week, NFC & Key Sokur! 

NFC & Key Sokur is the combination of producers/DJs Nelson Cuberli (NFC) and Leandro Sokur (Key Sokur). This duo, based in Playa del Carmen, Mexico are strongly influenced by Funk, Disco, Soul & Afro music. Their live sets are usually filled with their own productions -  fusing musical instruments with bass and arrangements originating in House music. They’ve seen releases on some of the most influential labels ranging from About Disco Records, Furious Mandrill, Deep Sense, Editorial Records, Tropical Disco, Rare Wiri, Moiss Music and Hive Label to name but a few. 

We’re delighted to welcome this talented duo on board for their BLD debut and know you're going to love what they've done for us here.

Having just got back from an absolutely mad weekend at ADE I mostly let the tunes do the talking on this show. I hadn’t got around to looking at my promos either so this one was focussed on the older stuff, anything ranging from a few months to a few decades of age. Took it whichever way I felt it, which was chunky slow mo vibes for a bit, deep vibes for a while, some spacey disco vibes to finish.

For hour 2 I was thrilled to welcome Costa Rican DJ, producer, radio host and now label boss Prisma Deer. Daniel has put together a bumping disco infused mix for the show, full of lovely, funky grooves. It’s beautifully mixed together and the vibes are on point. Reims based imprint Partyfine is headed up French super talent Yuksek and was established in 2013. The label takes a hands-on approach with its releases recording, mixing, mastering, and distributing, all under one roof. Partyfine is not bound by genre and was designed to showcase Yuksek’s diverse musical palette. Next up on the label Jimena Angel makes a second appearance with the first single from her full-length album that is set to drop in the fall.
 
Colombian artist, Jimena Angel, is a singer, producer, guitarist, and DJ from Bogotá with a talent for producing a very unique sound; a touch of Bullerengue and new Latin electronica coupled with a talent for writing catchy Colombian songs. Since 2007 Jimena has been developing her solo career releasing three albums, multiple singles and has been nominated for a Latin Grammy. With countless tours and festival appearances, she recently played a live performance atGlastonbury, Roskilde, Foreztival and Guts Presents Around Pura Vida.
 
‘Telepatia’ is a song about falling in love. That stage of romance where the obsessive fascination for each other goes deep, and the connection is so strong that there is a telepathic language between you. The music was inspired by the African ‘Highlife’ that Jimena so loves, but maybe because she’s Colombian, it went a little bit deeper to the side of Colombian Champeta and one or two other Colombian pop ingredients that are already present in her DNA. The original gets treated to a remix by Batida. Coming from the thriving Lisbon scene, Batida (Pedro Coquenão) sprinkles the frenetic Kuduro with infernal digital beats, and the rhythmic Semba de Luanda with electro rhythms.
