The Black Light Disco is back on the Myhouseradio.fm airwaves a little later on with another blockbuster tag team event featuring BLD residents Esteban and Shalvoy. 

Esteban is up first, setting his stall out as if he means business deep within the Sonic Collaboration Zone here in BLD Towers.  Expect some fine tune-mongering, with tasty cuts of audio goodies from the likes of LUP INO, Delfonic & Kapote, Antonio Santana, Da Lukas, Andy Bach to name but a few. 

For the second hour, Shalvoy takes over the controls and will absolutely blow your little cotton socks off. All the way off. Effortlessly slipping through the gears, Shalvoy’s in the mood for grooves and hot disco sauce.

Super Spicy Records is a "Funk & Disco, Originals and Edits" label located in Mexico City, Mexico. Discogs has this to say about them "Super Spicy is a Mexican label founded on 22 December 2019 and helmed by Monsieur Von Pratt."

Fingerman On Street Sounds Radio 31.10.22 (Part 2)

The Black Light Disco show was searching for those things that go bump in the night and spreading Halloween scares all over the MyHouseRadio.fm airwaves last week.

And who was responsible for this spectacular ghostly show on Halloween night? Well, it made perfect sense to get (S)Pookie Knights to carve the pumpkins and dress up BLD Towers in cobwebs, blood and ghostly apparitions. 

Yes, it’s a two whole hour ghost train ride with Ashley ‘Straight to Hell’ Ellis and Chris ‘Mad Axe Murderer’ Jones taking the controls and kicking candy corns in the faces of anyone daring enough to cross the drawbridge to knock on our door. 

A spook-tacular end to a busy month, the lads will be dishing out the ectoplasm and disco scares a-plenty.

BLD Pookie Knights Halloween Special 2022

This was one of those shows that I really enjoyed! Something clicked and I was loving the tunes throughout the first hour. Never afraid of a BPM jump on this show, I took things from a woozy 93bpm to a blistering 128 in the blink of an eye, so we had the full range from smoky chillout to stomping disco and lots in between. Almost enjoyed myself too much for a Monday night! 

In hour 2 we had a returning guest - the talented visual artist and DJ SSABES from Berlin. SSABES was guest on my show for Episode 68 pretty much dead on a year ago, and he smashed it back then. Really pleased to get him back on, and pleased to say he’s turned in another excellent mix, starting things mellow and laid back, then building a bit, but not too much. Keeping things classy - some disco, some nice refined house, a few slightly more ghetto bits, some soulful stuff. Really wonderful selections, and I’m grateful to SSABES for such a lovely mix.

Funkier Radio Episode 94 - SSABES Guest Mix

Nostalgia. One of my favourite nostalgic eras when I was just a wee 18-20 something was what I refer to as my College era clubbing phase. There I was, a young Drama Student on the south coast drenching myself in Carl Cox Essential Mixes, trekking across the South Downes to Megadog Events, fortnightly techno clubbing at my local night Geushky with like minded mates and generally crate digging for the sounds that grabbed me to spin on my shitty DLP3 Direct Drives. The salad days of venturing to my local youth club up the way with old school friends and discovering House Music and blending the genres together over a Snakebite & Black or two. The eventual big move to Brighton gave me new sounds to explore egged on by Hedonistic weekday nights out to The Zap, Beach Club, The Concorde and beach raves that could only be found if you were in the know. The era of (what my College friends dubbed me) Dj Homeboy was a good time so this weekend I'm taking it right back to my roots. I've been ripping and searching for the tracks that have been etched in my brain from way back when. The Black Light Disco Shows sprinkles the fairy dust all over themyhouseradio.fm airwaves a little later on with a very special takeover show to rev your Monday up.  

This week, we welcome Newcastle lads RJ into the bright lights of BLD Towers; giving them the VIP treatment (including hot towels) and the freedom of the 7th floor Sonic Research Lab.

RJ are North East of England duo Richard Harle and Chris Bremner. Their partnership has spanned the last two decades, during which time they have amassed a huge following in the UK as well as Europe. RJ have put on some spectacular nights in the legendary Hoochie Coochies in their home town and played alongside some of the biggest names out there - including such luminaries as Dave Lee, The Reflex, Natasha Kitty Kat, Copyright, Sandy Rivera and Harry Romero to name drop but a few. 

Their love of original disco, soul and smokey, funky grooves oozes out of their sets, and we’re absolutely thrilled to hand the entire show over to them to give you a taste of what they’re all about.
