teenage ditty

This is a piece I composed 4 years ago, my last year I was living in Greece. It sounds like a piano etude for fast arpeggios in impressionistic style. As always water is the dominant element in my compositions. There is a small surprise somewhere in this piece.

It is an old recording. Probably, I recorded it with my phone. Thus, I would like to apologize if the quality of sound is not good enough. However, I think that it deserves a place in my collection of improvisations.

This song began with JJ on a late Saturday night, coming up with it on the drums, bass, and organ. He even added some real triangle, if you listen for it, you'll be delighted. He had a killer jazz groove on his mind when he composed it, and was able to really bring it to life on all levels. He originally wrote it as a solo piece, but asked Josh if he would like to add a guitar part. Josh jumped at the opportunity to play an original jazz song on his guitar, and in a few days, recorded more than 20 takes of it. He finally landed on the one you hear in here now. 

  They asked Stephen to mix, master, and produce it for them, which he did in his typically professional way.

  This was a fun, exciting collaboration, featuring just JJ and Josh, but the rest of the Eclectic Collective will be back with them next time. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.
