Berlin based Vicky Zissou favours the deep and rhythmic side of techno, which is stimulating the mind + body and catching the soul. Tribalistic and deep sounds are quintessential in Vicky Zissou’s organic crafted sets.

Her dark-layered hypnotic techno comes with electric intensity, a shimmer of light + ease, and a drop of emotion. The accents are floating between atmospheric, dubby, acid, downtempo/experimental, and raw industrial vibrations. The distinct character of her sets combined to the latest released tracks and collaborations, got her recognition, attention, and gigs outside of Sweden.

Originally from Berlin, Vicky Zissou has become an essential part of the Swedish Techno Underground Scene. She played alongside many of the local scene’s originators and influential artists. Like Abdulla Rashim, Dorisburg, Evigt Mörker, Sebastian Mullaert, Fjäder a.m.

Together with producer Hampus Bogren, they form the duo Matilda. Matilda, in its complexity, is a genderless project, challenging people’s preconceptions + mental images. Modular synthesizers, atmospheric/experimental sounds and driven rhythmic percussion mark their sound.

Orion Records is all about freedom. Techno freedom. The Milan-based label is an open space for club and non-club music. Celestial pads, whispering voices, and melancholy melodies are the main elements of their productions.

Continually pushing the boundaries between plain DJ-friendly functionality and abstract-leaning tendencies, Parisian producer Zadig has carved a niche for himself at the forefront of the European techno scene thanks to his quality-driven approach and keenness to explore the uncharted. Boss of the ever future-facing record label Construct Re-Form, whose name says it all about his take on the genre, Zadig keeps on dishing out challenging opuses in sound, naturally inclined to break down and reinvent old mechanisms rather than phrase it like everyone else. His blends, extrapolating relatively classic 4x4 rhythms to seemingly incompatible territories, are both bold statements and question marks altogether. Brace yourself for a two-hour field trip across jagged industrial reliefs and more laid-back, thought-provoking environments.

Emerging from the shadows, TREN https://soundcloud.com/notmeanttohappen first appeared out there in 2019 with a hypnotic mix of unreleased songs, blending minimal techno and ambient. Two years later, The Rising and Setting of the Heavenly Bodies was released with a limited vinyl pressing. The project has evolved ever since and brought new mixtapes and another LP release to the enigmatic “not meant to happen” imprint. In his live set, TREN will take you on a journey through memories, dreams, space and time. ⌛️

Joining us this month is one of the most consistent producers around at the moment. In the past six years Alex has been releasing exciting material through local Stockholm labels such as Abdulla Rashim's Northern Electronics, Bossmuik, and Aniara Records which put out his first record back in 2010. Aniara Records is also responsible for putting out the majority of his output as one half of Genius Of Time, the irresistible DJ/Live act he formed with his good friend Nils Krogh but the duo's punchy releases also found a home on Clone's Royal Oak and Gerd Janson's Running Back. The past two years have seen him focusing primarily on his solo output as Dorisburg and his most ambitious project to date arrived earlier this year on John Talobot's Hivern Discs in the form of the Irrbloss LP.

Today he's prepared a very special mix of mysterious and rare hypnotic House cuts which he recorded straight to cassette through a studio console and analogue outboard. He told us the mix is for "late night internet exploring...something to get lost within while browsing the unknown corners of the web... or possibly what a rave could sound like on an abandoned space station".
