life footnote: I was playing Rampart in the basement of the HUB at UW Seattle when the infamous smash in the head with the air-hockey puck occurred and my glasses (which got knocked off) barely protected my eyes. Like '95 or '96 approximately.

This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs.

It’s drum and bass this week and helping me Draw The Line, with her guest mix in the second hour, it’s Gifta, a drum asnd bsass DJ and Producer who’s based in London. She’s inspired by the energetic and aggressive side of the genre, sitting between heavy rollers and skatty minimal influences. Her productions feature tight, rolling drum work and strong basses, bringing the hard hitting energy she enjoys to the forefront of her sound. In 2020 she founded her own record label, Phase Records DNB which has quickly established itself as a well loved label on the up and coming circuit. This year she is being mentored by Hospital Records as part of their business development scheme.
