We have had great success with our first series of VA releases called Edition, for which there were 3 parts. This year, we present our next Various Artists release, named Atlas. 

This LP features both established artists and newcomers to the scene, as well as label staples and label newcomers. Atlas features Deft, Visages, Drone, Nymfo, Monty, Alix Perez, Echo Brown, Foreign Concept, Headland, Safire, DRS, Nymfo, and of course, Eprom. Atlas is a journey through numerous styles and tempos, showcasing a group of the most talented artists in bass music today.

Atlas/ 1 will be released on digital on 9th July 2021 - and also as a 3 piece vinyl set which will be available for shipping in September.

This week, we are honored to welcome from Seville, Spain, DJ and producer: Paket (@paket-deejay)! There's no breaks quite like the breaks coming from Spain right now. We hope you enjoy the mix!

About Paket:
Cristian Borrego Cuevas, más conocido como Paket, es un productor sevillano, fundador del sello Empire Of Music Records, que comenzó a dar sus primeros pasos como productor y dj en el año 2014. Su interés por la música breaks y su afán creativo fueron la mecha para que en 2014 comenzara a dar sus primeros pasos como dj y productor. Sus primeras producciones muestran claramente las influencias del tear out y el nuskool, con bases marcadas y bajos agresivos como característica principal, su primera actuación en directo fue en 2016 en Heroes vs Villains con Dirty Break.
Ese mismo año obtuvo el segundo lugar en los premios I.B.A.en la categoría de productor revelación.
Tras 3 años en Dirty Break, llamó el interés de Funkasty Crew , promotora a la cual hoy pertenece. Ha trabajado para la mayoría de promotoras actuales de breaks en Andalucía, tales como Raveart, Animalia, Heat Productions y N-mity Sound. Su música ha sido publicada en más de 20 sellos discográficos de breaks, como Musication Records, Ravesta Records, Distorsion Records
Funndark Records etc. Al hablar de su música podemos ver como han ido evolucionando sus producciones hacia creaciones más armoniosas, sin perder ese toque de agresividad y esas bases marcadas del nuskool, con vocales de infarto y atmósferas envolventes.
Su trabajo y afán creativo hacen que siga trabajando por lo que es una de sus mayores pasiones, la música, intentando dar un sonido renovado, un concepto de música breaks diferente.
Tras su paso por la academia Produccion Electronica ha obtenido la titulación de un Máster en Composición, Paket no ha tocado techo y el límite viene marcado por su música, por lo que aún nos queda mucho que bailar, sentir y sobre todo disfrutar.

Un set en el que fusiono el breaks en digital y vinilo, creando así un set progresivo muy funky a 3 platos.

Para mí, muy especial, porque es el set en el que consigo ver los frutos de tantos años de práctica. Dónde después de dar un cambio en mi carrera, estoy por fin ajustando mi técnica pinchando en este estilo.

Cada día más cómodo con el vinilo, y pronto más cositas chulas como esta mezclándolo con digital para darle más dinamismo.

Greetings and welcome back to our synodically recurring mix series 'Styles'. A new mix series aimed at showcasing unique styles and subgenres nestled amongst the broad landscape of electronic dance music. For our fifth episode, GRA co-founder, Suspect, has curated a palpitating 33 minute mix that dives headfirst into the high energy world of Neurobreaks. Be sure to lock in and bump up the volume a notch for this thrilling journey!

"Neurobreaks (AKA neuro breaks) is an aggressive subgenre of Breakbeat that combines the genre's grooves and rhythms with the sound design of Neurofunk, particularly the characteristic reese bass. Often sitting around the 120-140 BPM range, the genre has its origins in Nu Skool Breaks and its subgenre Tearout Breaks, and it can effectively be considered a slowed down form of neurofunk. Culprate’s 2017 song "Phantom" is considered to be foundational to the sound of neurobreaks, although the idea of combining breakbeat with neurofunk had been conceptualized on online forums before. Other notable pioneers include Screamarts, Pluvio and AKOV who founded Symbiotik Records in 2021."

From a very young age he was already interested in electronic music and at the age of 13 he began to move together with his brother, ManuEvil DJ, through the most emblematic places of the Córdoba scene. Soon they started working with the biggest names in southern Spain such as Satisfaxion, Nätural and Animalia, just to name a few. He started at 15 as a producer, and by the age of 18 he already released his first single through the Malaga label Starsign Records of Anuschka.

Shortly after, he was hired as A&R by the Kankana Records label, until he decided to open his own company several years later. Throughout his 30-year career, he has an extensive discography on vinyl, CDs and digital releases, published by national and international labels, including his own productions as well as productions for a large number of artists from different musical genres, film soundtracks, music for television, advertising spots for brands such as Adidas and audio post-production works for Sony PlayStation video games such as "Déraciné", "Dreams" and "Helldivers 2".

He was co-founder of the Emoxion.com electronic music portal and a former contributor to the On-Satisfaxion radio show and the Deejay magazine. He is currently a music reviewer for DJ Mag and Mixmag magazines, and directs EvilSound Studios and EvilSound Records.
